The method according to the invention enables a facility having a rather reduced dimension, for incinerating to be used, melting and vitrifying mixed waste () introduced into a reactor (), by means of a basket () in turn passing through an air lock (). Plasma torches () burn all waste () contained in the basket (). The waste is then lowered in a melting bath of a furnace () with an inductor () including a crucible-forming container (). A combustion gas treatment train completes the facility. The furnace () can be dismantled, after a series of treatments of several baskets () of waste () for disassembling the crucible-forming container () from the furnace (). Application in treating different radiologically contaminated and/or toxic mixed waste.

Method and facility for incinerating, melting and vitrifying organic and metal waste

A device having advantages in terms of equipment maintenance, since it provides maximum limitation of the onset of electric arcing between the electrodes, including a vertical cathode equipped with emissive points, these points being offset at an angle from each other from one plane to another, so as to be optimally distributed in space.
