A substantially tubular supply line () of a main oil gallery () for distributing lubricating or cooling oil to bearing points of a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. The supply line () has at least one inflow opening () arranged on the supply line () and feed lines () having feed line openings () on the supply line () for feeding the lubricating or cooling oil to the bearing points of the crankshaft in the crankcase. The inflow opening () is formed in a flow-favorable manner and may define a funnel shape.

In a method for casting a cylinder head of a piston engine in a region of cooling channels for valve seat rings, a separate core is provided for defining cooling channels, and the cooling channel core is mounted in a bottom plate of a casting mold at various points thereof. The cooling channels for the valve seat rings have a cooling channel region formed by two interconnected rings and at least one cooling fluid supply channel and at least one cooling fluid drain channel. The two rings are disposed at a distance from the valve seat rings, adjacent to them.

An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase in which a crankshaft is rotatably mounted. Mechanisms are provided for scraping off the oil from the rotating crankshaft. An oil pan is arranged below the crankcase for holding the oil scraped off by the scrapers.

An oil filler device on an internal-combustion engine includes a filler neck having an oil filler opening and a closing lid for closing the filler opening. The closing lid has a cup-shaped closing cap which therefore has a bottom and a wall, a sealing device and a centering element interacting with a filler neck. The closing lid is equipped in the center on the bottom with a fastening section constructed as a flange, which fastening section reaches through the centering element and the centering element is fastened on the fastening section. In order to promote a dripping-off of oil situated on the interior side of the closing cap, it is provided that, for the fastening of the centering element on the fastening section, a holding ring is fitted onto the fastening section. The holding ring, on its ring opening, has radially inwardly projecting fastening lugs which extend diagonally with respect to the bottom and are applied to the fastening section. A drip nose extends away from the bottom on the centering element and the centering element rests by its interior circumferential surface flatly against the fastening section and by its exterior circumferential surface flatly against the interior side of the neck.

Oil filler device on an internal-combustion engine

The invention relates to an internal-combustion engine, in particular for a motorcycle. The motorcycle engine preferably includes a crankshaft rotatable about an axis, a web coupled to the crankshaft, and curved wall portions surrounding the crankshaft. The web has an outer surface which defines a substantially circular pathway as it rotates about the axis. Oil is preferably flung from the web and the crankshaft into an oil channel which has a longitudinal axis that is substantially tangential to an adjacent portion of the pathway. Additionally, oil which is flung from the web and the crankshaft onto the curved wall portions drains into the oil channel, which leads to an oil-storage tank. Preferably, the housing also includes a balancing shaft with a balancing web rotatable about a second axis, additional curved wall portions surrounding the balancing shaft and the balancing web, and a second oil channel. The balancing web has a balancing web outer surface that rotates along a substantially circular pathway. The second oil channel has a longitudinal axis that is substantially tangential to an adjacent portion of the second pathway. Oil thrown from the balancing shaft is flung into a second oil channel, which leads to the oil-storage tank.

A combustion engine cylinder head has at one wall of the cylinder head at least one hot site produced by the radiant heat of a combustion space. The hot site is cooled by a cooling duct, through which cooling water is flowing. To optimize the cooling of the hot site, an additional flow channel is provided, for a concerted flow of cooling water and for carrying additional cooling water in the cooling duct and for cooling of the hot site in the wall of the cylinder head.

A cylinder head for a water-called internal combustion engine has a combustion space. Due to radiant heat in the combustion space, a hot site develops at a wall in a cooling duct of the cylinder head, through which cooling water is flowing. Control measures are provided for a concerted flow of cooling water in the cooling duct and for cooling the hot site at the wall of said cooling duct.

A cylinder head with two overhead camshafts is divided by longitudinal and transverse walls into several subspaces in the area of its leakage-oil-carrying interior. Due to this partitioning of the leakage-oil-carrying interior, it is ensured that oil scavenging is as fast as possible and oil foaming is simultaneously minimized.

A cylinder head having a device for returning lubricating oil from the interior is provided with two separate collectors which each extend in the longitudinal direction of the cylinder head. One of the collectors is connected with the interior of the cylinder head in the forward or rearward area of the cylinder head. The other of the collectors is connected with the interior only in the opposite rearward or forward area of the cylinder head. As a result, it is ensured that, in each case, at least one of the two collectors in the area of their connection point into the interior, also in the event of strong decelerations/accelerations, is always below the adjusting oil level and thus a disposal of oil from the cylinder head is ensured under all operating conditions.

An internal-combustion engine comprises two cylinder banks inclined with respect to a vertical line and has two overhead camshafts respectively which are driven by way of an intermediate shaft by the crankshaft. The connection between the camshafts and the intermediate shaft takes place by way of driving devices which extend in timing cases. In order to maintain consistent oil levels in the cylinder heads which fluctuate during an acceleration or a cornering, a lubricant pump is arranged on each of the cylinder heads which, on the suction side, is connected with the cylinder head and, on the delivery side, is connected with the oil pan. The lubricant pump is continuously driven by the camshaft.

For avoiding exterior, cooling-water-carrying ducts, an internal-combustion engine comprising two mutually opposite cylinder banks has integrated ducts for the feeding and removal of the cooling water to the cooling jackets and the cylinder heads.

A locking arrangement for the selector lever 1 of an automatic transmission locks the selector lever in the neutral positions P and N by the form-locking engagement of a selector-lever-fixed locking member in indentations of a rotatable pawl. An actuating force, which is applied to the selector lever in the locked condition, by way of curved contact surfaces of the locking member, at a contact point, is introduced into steep flanks bounding the indentations. A resulting low supporting force exercises so little stress on two rollers supporting the pawl that, by means of a lifting magnet, one roller, despite the acting actuating force, can easily be displaced in a position which releases the pawl and unlocks the selector lever.
