A glow plug, in particular for use in an internal combustion engine. The glow plug includes at least one heating body and at least one housing. The heating body has at least one first terminal contact extending from a base body of the heating body into a housing. The glow plug also has a second terminal contact extending at least partially within the housing. At least one contacting element having at least one opening is provided inside the housing, the first terminal contact and the second terminal contact being introduced into the opening from opposite sides and being electrically connected.

Glow plug for use in an internal combustion engine

A sheathed-element glow plug for self-igniting internal combustion engines has an electrical heating element which projects into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, and a current feed-through for providing a heating current for the heating element through an opening in the combustion chamber. A switch is positioned in the region of the current feed-through, and the heating current may be controlled by the opening and closing of the switch.

A ceramic sheathed-element glow plug includes a ceramic glow element made of an electrically conductive layer and an electrically insulating layer, in which the conductive layer is made of supply layers and a heating layer. The higher specific electrical resistance of the heating layer allows the temperature of the heating layer and of the combustion chamber to be determined, and the electrical contact between a connecting element and the glow element is established by a contacting element that is composed of a pellet made of an electrically conductive powder.

This is achieved using a waveguide, which is integrated in a component, which protrudes into the combustion chamber.

A ceramic sheathed-type glow plug, whose ceramic heating element is made of an electrically conductive conducting layer and an electrically insulating layer, is described. The conducting layer is made of lead layers and a heating layer. Ceramic sheathed element glow plug

A ceramic sheathed-element glow plug is proposed in which a metallic tubular holder holds a ceramic U-shaped heating device in a cantilevered fashion at its combustion chamber side end and has a terminal stud for applying a voltage to the ceramic heating device on the end remote from the combustion chamber. At its end enclosed by the holder, the ceramic heating device has a segment of greatest diameter and is coated with an insulating layer which has recesses for an electrical contacting. One recess is provided at the end of the ceramic heating device remote from the combustion chamber and a second recess is provided on the external wall of the ceramic heating device. A for an electrically conductive sealing compound is provided between the external wall of the ceramic heating device and the internal wall of the holder.

A ceramic sheathed element glow plug has a tubular metal casing holding a ceramic U-shaped heating device cantilevered at its end facing the combustion chamber, and on the end remote from the combustion chamber, it has a terminal pin for applying a voltage to the ceramic heating device. In the metal casing, a ceramic bushing and a ring follow the ceramic heating device at the end remote from the combustion chamber.

Pencil type glow plug for diesel engines

A ceramic electric resistor is proposed which can be made by means of ceramizing at least one organo-silicon polymer and at least one filler. The filler comprises at least one high-melting electrically conductive component, with the filler portion amounting to 20 to 50 vol. % relative to the solvent-free polymer-filler mixture. The specific electrical resistance can be set by varying the filler portion. The ceramic electric resistor is particularly suited as heating conductor for pencil-type glow plugs.
