Oil-soluble polymer improving the viscosity index of lubricating oils, endowed with dispersant properties and capable of lowering the pour point ('pour point depressant'), obtained by means of a first step of reaction between a polyolefinic copolymer and a mixture of C.sub.8 -C.sub.25 alcohol (meth)acrylates and (meth)acrylic acid and a second step of condensation of the so modified copolymer with a polyamine.

Polymeric additive for lubricating oils

A lubricating oil viscosity index improvement additive with dispersant and ntioxidant properties of general formula: ##STR1## where R' is hydrogen or an alkyl, R.sub.a and R.sub.b are alkyl radicals, R.sub.c is a nitrogenated alkyl radical and x, y and z represent relative quantities. The invention also relates to the process for preparing said additive and lubricating oil compositions which contain it.

Multifunctional additive for lubricating oils

Chemical compounds, having a melting point between 70.degree. C. and 130.degree. C. and soluble in hydrocarbons, are used as solid carriers in order to dose conveniently additives for fuels for internal combustion engines. The compounds are selected from the group consisting of alkyl-substituted phenols, aromatic carbonates, alkyl-substituted pyrocatechols, polymers of alkyl-substituted 1,2-dihydroquinoline.

Chemical compounds to be used as solid carriers for fuel additives

The process for the production of superbasic detergents from sulphonates and/or sulphophenates and an oxide or an hydroxide of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal is carried out in the presence of an ester of the carbonic acid, preferably in the presence of dimethylcarbonate.
