A Hybrid Electric Vehicle comprising a heat transfer medium, transfers heat generated by an electric motor to a fuel, increasing fuel evaporation and cooling the motor. This configuration allows the use of multiple fuels and fuel blends including hydrogen, liquefied natural gas, natural gas liquids and heavier hydrocarbons in varying proportions while allowing higher efficiency and lower emissions due to the hybrid configuration, and efficient cooling.

In a general aspect, a computer-implemented method can include receiving, by a device including a plurality of functional elements, an indication of a service to be implemented by the device. The method can also include determining one or more functional elements of the device that are needed to implement the service. The method can further include initializing the device by activating the one or more functional elements needed to implement the service.

Aspects of the subject technology relate to systems and methods for sharing encrypted information among multiple devices. A peer-to-peer connection between a first computing device associated with a user account and a second computing device associated with the user account is established. Information associated with at least a portion of a file system of the second computing device may be received by the first computing device, where the portion of the file system comprises encrypted data. The portion of the file system of the second computing device may be mounted on the first computing device based on the received information.

Sharing protected user content between devices

A computing device includes a housing, a processor, memory, a human interface device (i.e., a keyboard or a trackpad), and a biometric sensor integrated into the housing. The biometric sensor is configured for capturing biometric data (i.e., heartbeat data or a vein scan) from one or more of hands of a user of the device while the user's fingers are interacting with the human interface device. The memory stores executable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the computing device to: compare the captured biometric data to one or more records of biometric data associated with the user; determine, based on the comparison, whether the captured biometric data satisfies a matching condition with the one or more records of biometric data; and authenticate the user, when the captured biometric data satisfies the matching condition.

In one general aspect, a method can include determining that a display monitor is operatively connected to a display port included in an operating system (OS) dongle, identifying at least one peripheral device operatively connected to the OS dongle, receiving, by the OS dongle, an indication of requested content from the at least one peripheral device, and responsive to receiving the indication of the requested content, obtaining the requested content from a computer system remote from the OS dongle. The obtaining can include operatively connecting the OS dongle to a network. The network can be operatively interfaced to the computer system that includes the requested remote content. The method can include providing, by the OS dongle, the requested content to the display monitor using the display port.

A hybrid vehicle comprising a liquefied light hydrocarbon or hydrogen (LLH) fuel system is disclosed. The fuel system comprises an insulated fuel tank having a buffer space containing vaporized fuel, an orifice plate and a fuel coil conveying a first fuel vapor to a buffer tank through a first solenoid valve; a fuel line conveying a second fuel vapor through a second solenoid valve to the buffer tank and a pressure regulator, wherein an outlet to the buffer tank connects to the pressure regulator and wherein an outlet of the pressure regulator is adapted to connect to a fuel inlet to an energy conversion device selected from the group of fuel cells, Stirling engines and internal combustion engines. Methods of using the hybrid vehicle are also disclosed.

Hybrid vehicle with a liquefied light hydrocarbon or hydrogen fuel system and methods thereto

A liquefied light hydrocarbon (LLH) fuel system for a hybrid electric vehicle is disclosed. The fuel system uses a stable supply of vaporized (LLH) fuel to meet the highly variable power demand from the vehicle's power train by 1) adjusting the evaporation rate inside an insulated fuel tank through a heat delivery system, 2) managing the amount of compressed fuel vapor stored inside a buffer tank and 3) using an electric energy storage means to provide for rapid fluctuations in demand. In an embodiment the apparatus comprises an insulated fuel tank, a buffer tank, a heat delivery system, an energy conversion means to convert the vaporized fuel into electricity and an electric energy storage means that can provide for rapid variations of power demand from the vehicle. Methods of using the fuel system under various operational scenarios are also disclosed.

Liquified light hydrocarbon fuel system for a hybrid electric vehicle

In one general aspect, a main printed circuit board (PCB) card can include a System on a Chip (SoC) configured to run an operating system stored on the main PCB card, at least one dynamic random access memory (DRAM) device and at least one non-volatile memory device each configured for use by the SoC, and at least one connector. The main PCB card can be configured to be interchangeably interfaced with multiple types of shell computing devices by way of a slot included in a shell computing device. The slot can be configured to accommodate the main PCB card. Each type of shell computing device can be of a different form factor. Each form factor can be representative of a different type of computing device. The at least one connector can be configured to be plugged into a mating connector included in a shell computing device.

A convertible computer includes a transparent optical element in the keyboard base that provides light pass-through for the camera but does not interfere with the user's experience. The transparent optical element may include a transparent glass or plastic element that maintains the imaging specifications of the rear-facing camera. In some implementations, the transparent optical element can maintain the f-number of the optical system that includes the camera and the transparent optical element and may not affect image quality of images captured by the camera. In some arrangements, the transparent optical element can include an optical system that can increase the light-gathering ability of the camera (e.g., decreases f-number), effectively converting the camera lens into a macro lens. In other arrangements, the transparent optical element can include an optical system that can improve the imaging of distant objects (e.g., increases f-number), effectively converting the camera lens into a telephoto lens.

This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope and meaning of the claims. A shared-application tool allows a user to request to use an application that is installed on host computing device on a client computing device. The request to use the application is made to a directory service using a message-exchanging protocol. The application is run on the host computing device and provided to the client computing device using a peer-to-peer communication protocol.
