The present invention relates to a method for controlling a steam generating system () for a domestic steam cooking oven (). A steam generator () and an inlet valve () are controlled by a regulating thermal switch () and a limiting thermal switch (). The regulating thermal switch () and the limiting thermal switch () respond to a temperature within and/or at the steam generator (). A threshold value of the limiting thermal switch () is higher than a threshold value (Ts) of the regulating thermal switch (). The steam generator () is deactivated and the inlet valve () is activated by the regulating thermal switch (), if the temperature (T) of the steam generator () exceeds the threshold value (Ts) of the regulating thermal switch ().

Method for controlling a steam generating system for a domestic steam cooking oven and steam generating system

A household appliance () is disclosed which comprises a liquid tank (), wherein the tank is adapted for translational movement between a use position in which the tank is positioned within a housing () of the household appliance and a servicing position in which the tank is at least partially extracted from the housing, the household appliance further comprises biasing means () for biasing the tank towards the servicing position, and releasable latch means () for selectively arresting the tank in the use position or releasing the tank for movement towards the servicing position. In accordance with the invention: the household appliance () further comprises a carriage () associated to the tank () and configured for translational movement along guide means () provided in the housing (); the biasing means () comprises a spring element configured to be loaded when the tank () is moved from the servicing position towards the use position; and the latch means comprises:20&#x2014;a catch () provided at the carriage, &#x2014;a locking member () located at the housing () which in the use position of the tank () engages the catch () to arrest the tank in the use position, and &#x2014;release means () for disengaging the locking member25 from the catch ().

Household appliance comprising a liquid tank

A cooking oven has a cooking cavity and a steam generating system. The steam generation system includes a water reservoir received and support in a reservoir-receiving space of a reservoir rack inside the cooking cavity. Thermal energy is provided to the water reservoir by a heater inside the cooking cavity. The heater can include thermal block made of a thermally conductive material in thermal communication with a heating element. The heater can be positioned such that it intimately contacts the water reservoir to deliver thermal energy thereto to convert water contained therein to steam, which can be used to cook a food item inside the cooking cavity.
