A fuel injection valve is described which has a swirl disk downstream from a valve seat, the swirl disk being made of at least one metallic material, having at least two swirl channels opening into a swirl chamber, and in which all layers are adheringly deposited directly one on top of the other by electroplating (multilayer electroplating). The swirl disk is installed in the valve so that the surface normal to its surface forms an oblique angle other than 0&deg; with the longitudinal valve axis, so that a jet angle &ggr; with respect to the longitudinal valve axis is formed due to the orientation of the swirl disk. The fuel injection valve is particularly well suited for direct injection of fuel into the combustion chamber of a compressed mixture externally ignited internal combustion engine.

Fuel injection valve

A fuel injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, which is composed of two preassembled, independent subassemblies. In this context, a functional part essentially includes an electromagnetic circuit and a sealing valve, whereas a connecting part is essentially constituted of a hydraulic connection. In the ready-assembled injector, electrical connecting elements and hydraulic connecting elements of both subassemblies cooperate so that a reliable electrical and hydraulic connection is ensured. The valve is executed as a side-feed injector, and the electrical connection is located farther away from functional part than the hydraulic connection of the connecting part. The fuel injector is particularly suitable for use in fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing, positive ignition internal combustion engines.

The invention joins the intake module or intake tube to the engine with the aid of a displaceable retaining element. The retaining element, which in the mounted state is under initial tension, is braced against an engine retention face associated with the engine and against at least one counterpart intake module retention face joined to the intake module or intake tube. Because of the displaceability of the retaining element, the expense and effort of mounting and dismantling the intake module or intake tube to the engine by screws are substantially reduced.
