A level vial includes an elongated vial liquid housing extending along an axis of elongation and containing a liquid and a bubble therein, an outer support body supporting the elongated vial liquid housing, the outer support body being integral with the elongated vial liquid housing, and having an inner surface at least partially surrounding the elongated vial liquid housing, and an open space between the inner surface and the elongated vial liquid housing. The elongated vial liquid housing is shaped such that a horizontal orientation of the axis of elongation causes the liquid to flow such that the bubble floats to a center of the elongated vial liquid housing. The elongated vial liquid housing and the open space are in an outwardly exposed and unobstructed configuration relative to a front face of the level vial.

Level vial

A level includes a body comprising a first portion having a first reference surface, and a second portion having a second reference surface, the second reference surface being spaced from the first reference surface. The body also includes an intermediate member comprising a wall positioned between the first and second portions, the wall being generally perpendicular to at least one of the reference surfaces. The level also includes an orientation indicator coupled to the intermediate member, the orientation indicator being positioned to indicate an orientation of at least one of the first and the second reference surfaces. The level additionally includes an indicator support configured to support the orientation indicator, and a resilient member positioned between the orientation indicator and the indicator support. A compression the resilient member facilitates a calibration of the orientation indicator, while the indicator support supports the resilient member and engages opposite sides of the wall.

I-beam level

Disclosed is a rule assembly having a housing, a reel rotatably mounted in the housing, an elongated blade arranged to be wound on the reel and to be extendable through an opening in the housing, and an end hook member having a mounting portion attached to the elongated blade and a hook portion. The end hook member is capable of limited movement relative to the blade between an extended position and a retracted position. The rule assembly has a magnet assembly removably attachable to the elongated blade. The magnet assembly has a mounting portion and a magnet. The mounting portion is configured to removably fix the magnet assembly relative to the blade such that a forward surface of the magnet is removably fixed at a position that is aligned with or approximately aligned with a forward surface of the hook portion with the end hook member in its retracted position.
