In some implementations, a first computing device can send notifications at times that the first computing device is not in an expected location. A user of a second computing device can remotely configure an expected location for the first computing device, which may be a particular location for a certain period of time. During that time, the first computing device can monitor its own location and check whether it is within the expected location. If the first computing device unexpectedly leaves or fails to enter the expected location, the first computing device may transmit a notification to the second computing device. Similarly, if the first computing device loses connectivity with other devices, a server device may notify the second computing device that the location of the first computing device cannot be determined.

Generating unexpected location notifications

A multi-head actuator data storage device reads and writes data simultaneously to one of a plurality m of heads, the plurality of m heads mounted on each of n head actuators where the plurality of n head actuators are separated from each other by an angular separation distance of 360/n degrees. The data on the disk is organized into a plurality of logical sectors, each logical sector comprising n ordered physical sectors, where the plurality n of ordered physical sectors is separated by the same angular distance separating the head actuators. During a write operation, each head actuator independently seeks to a unique physical sector, and the order of the physical sectors is communicated to a data de-multiplexer which writes de-multiplexed data to the physical sectors in a predetermined order. During a read operation, each head actuator independently seeks to a unique physical sector selected for minimum access time, and the order of the physical sectors is communicated to the data multiplexer such that the predetermined order is preserved during the multiplexing of the data arriving from the n head actuators simultaneously.

Disk data storage apparatus and method using multiple head actuators

A power amplifier device for amplifying an audio signal from sound generating circuitry in a micro-computer is provided. The device is retained in a housing secured in a drive bay of the micro-computer containing a disk drive such as a compact disc read only memory drive, a compact disc recordable drive, a digital video disc drive, etc. The amplifier device and disk drive may also be configured in a unitary housing. The device receives a line-level audio signal from the audio circuitry and transmits the signal to a frequency and time response contouring device, to adjust the response of the signal. A power level adjusting mechanism, such as a volume control, adjusts the power level of the signal generated by the frequency and time response device. Amplifiers are coupled to the volume control to amplify the audio signal to a level determined by the volume control. The amplification device connects to at least leftwardly and rightwardly positioned loudspeakers to provide stereophonic sound at the desired level. When the device is retained in the disc drive bay, access to the volume control and frequency response contouring device, such as a graphic equalizer or separate bass and treble controls, is substantially facile. The amplification device provides contoured and amplified audio output signals to the loudspeakers, so that the loudspeaker is capable of producing high quality stereophonic sound. A front panel of the housing may include terminals, such as line-input and mic-input, for providing a facile access location to couple remote devices to the audio circuitry, as well as a microphone for capturing audio information necessary for voice driven software.

Audio power amplifier device for micro-computers

A power amplifier device for amplifying an audio signal from sound generating circuitry in a micro-computer is provided. The device is retained in a housing secured in a drive bay of the micro-computer containing a compact disc read only memory drive. The device and disc drive may also be configured in a unitary housing. The device receives a line-level audio signal from the audio circuitry and transmits the signal to a frequency and time response contouring device, to adjust the response of the signal. A power level adjusting mechanism, such as a volume control, adjusts the power level of the signal generated by the frequency and time response device. Amplifiers are coupled to the volume control to amplify the audio signal to a level determined by the volume control. The amplification device connects to at least leftwardly and rightwardly positioned loudspeakers to provide stereophonic sound at the desired level. When the device is retained in the disc drive bay, access to the volume control and frequency response contouring device, such as a graphic equalizer or separate bass and treble controls, is substantially facile. The amplification device provides contoured and amplified audio output signals to the loudspeakers, so that the loudspeaker is capable of producing high quality stereophonic sound. Apparatus for forming a concrete panel for constructing a wall of a building in which a reinforcing column of concrete is integrally formed therewith. The apparatus has a hopper in which cement is poured. Depending from the hopper is an inverted U-shaped channel member with depending walls for forming the column.
