This invention relates to a polyurethane no-bake foundry binder comprising (1) phenolic resin component which comprises (a) a phenolic resin, (b) hydrofluoric acid, and (c) a silane, and (2) an organic polyisocyanate component, and (3) a liquid tertiary amine catalyst component. The binders are used to prepare foundry mixes by mixing the binder with a foundry aggregate. Foundry shapes are prepared with the mixes by the no-bake process and are used to cast metal parts.

Polyurethane forming no-bake foundry binders

Disclosed is a method for making metal castings wherein a composite core assembly is utilized. The composite core assembly comprises at least one casting core and one temporary core which are in intimate contact wherein the temporary core is removed prior to casting. The improvement of the present invention comprises forming the temporary core comprising an aggregate and binder of materials such that the temporary core is sufficiently soluble in aqueous solvent for its removal prior to metal casting. The casting core is not removed by the aqueous solvent.

Composite core assembly for metal casting

An adhesive paste composition containing in admixture a resin component, a hardener component, a hydrophobic filler component and a curing agent. The resin component includes a polyol having at least two hydroxyl groups and the hardener component includes a liquid polyisocyanate containing at least two isocyanate groups. The admixture may be made by mixing together a premixed resin component contianing a filler and a catalyst and a premixed hardener component containing a hydrophobic filler. The fluid in the resin component, the hardener component, or both may be a thixotropic agent.

Mold assembly and fabrication thereof with a self-setting urethane

Self-setting urethane adhesive paste system

Disclosed is a coating composition suitable for coating metal pipe, especially the interior of pipe. The coating composition comprises a blend of one or more polyether polyols and a flexibilizing stearically hindered amine-initiated polyether polyol and a multi-isocyanate curing agent. The curing composition optionally may contain an organic solvent and inert particulate filler. The coating composition cures within about 1 to 3 minutes after application and preferably is spray applied. The coating composition possesses adequate flexibility to pass a 15% ring deflection test.
