A portable grinding machine () includes an elongated housing () and an output shaft () projecting at a right angle to the housing axis for receiving a disk-shaped rotary clamping tool. The output shaft is encompassed by a substantially cylindrical clamping collar (), on which a shell-like protective cover () is secured in a tensile manner against rotation and axial displacement and which serves for encompassing the clamping tool () and which can be attached on the clamping collar () with a ring-shaped tensioning belt (). The tensioning belt () has sharp-edged projections () projecting to the clamping collar, which upon clamping, born into the clamping collar and are held there in a form-locking manner (a shell-like tensioning band).

A guard device for a hand power tool, in the form of a sanding/grinding hand power tool, has a wheel guard enclosing at least part of a rotating tool in a radial direction; a guide for guiding the wheel guard along a work piece, and comprising a fastening device for mounting the wheel guard on the hand power tool, wherein the guide is joined with the wheel guard in torsion-resistant fashion, and the wheel guard is mounted in a fashion that allows it to move relative to the fastening device; and a depth-of-cut stop limiting the relative movement of the wheel guard and fastening device, and being lockable in position with positive engagement in preselected stepped positions.

Protective device for a hand machine tool

The invention is based on a guard device () for a power tool, in particular for a sanding power tool, having a protective cover () that is provided to at least partially encompass a disk-shaped, rotating tool, and having a dust removal tube (), the longitudinal axis of which is located at an angle of up to 80&#xb0; to the axis of rotation of the tool. It is proposed that part of the dust removal tube () passes through the plane of a flat side of the tool.

A hand power tool formed as a hand-guided angular grinder has a tool, and an electric-motor drive for the tool, a housing accommodating the drive and carrying a central bearing pin, a handle composed of two semi-shells, rotatably arranged on the bearing pin, overlapping an end side of the motor housing and having a switch strip, an electrical switch actuated by the switch strip and connected with the drive, and a fixing device for fixing the handle in at least two different positions in a relative rotation to the motor housing and having a manual actuating member arranged on the handle, each of the handle shells being provided with a bearing semi-shell formed on the handle shell and rotatably arranged on the bearing pin, the bearing pin being provided at an end side with a blind hole, and a sleeve is inserted in the blind hole, provided with a radial flange overlapping concentric ends of the bearing pin and the bearing semi-shells, and having a snapping hook located at an end which is remote from the flange and arrested in radial recesses in the bearing pin.

A guide plate for guiding a power hand tool along a guide rail placed on a workpiece, has a guide channel formed to embrace the guide rail and provided with guide surfaces for sliding along lateral surfaces of the guide rail. The guide channel is formed by at least two elongated bridge-type beads arranged at a distance from one another and by recesses located in a plane and aligned with the beads so as to extend on both sides of the beads following immediately from the beads. The guide channel has a greater clearance dimension in relation to a width of the guide rail. The guide surfaces are formed in pairs on two necks which are provided in the guide channel at a separation from each other with a clearance width which is slightly greater than the width of the guide rail.

A hand held power tool has a working disc and a working sheet held on the working disc by a burdock connection. The working disc has a burdock surface. An intermediate pad is held on the burdock surface of the grinding disc. The intermediate pad has a first side provided with a velour coating and releasably connectable with the burdock surface of the grinding working disc and a second side releasably connectable with the working sheet.

A high-speed power tool has a housing for an electromotor, and a tool casing mounted on the motor housing. A finishing plate is mounted on the tool casing for movement relative thereto. The motor drives a transmission which includes a crank member having an eccentric portion connected to the finishing plate for imparting oscillatory motion to the latter. The arrangement for connecting the eccentric portion of the crank member to the finishing plate includes a bearing mounted on the eccentric portion of the crank member, and a sleeve surrounding the bearing and detachably connected to the finishing plate. Screws which are accessible from the exterior of the tool casing and of the finishing plate connect the sleeve to the finishing plate. The transmission includes two pulleys mounted on the output shaft of the electromotor and on the crank member, respectively, the pulley on the output shaft being bipartite, the two parts of the pulley being spaced by an interchangeable washer and urged toward one another by a screw so that tension of a V-belt trained about the pulleys can be adjusted.

High-speed power tool

A power sander includes a casing bounding a space in which a sanding plate is mounted for cyclical motion in parallelism with a plane of a support surface of the sanding plate. A sanding element, such as sandpaper, is supported on and covers the support surface of the sanding plate, and a clamping arrangement clamps the sanding element to the sanding plate. The clamping arrangement is mounted on the sanding plate for pivoting between an engaging and an disengaging position, and is biased toward the engaging position thereof. An actuating arrangement is mounted in a transverse wall of the casing for displacement between a retracted and an extended position and is operative for abutting against and displacing the clamping arrangement toward the disengaging position thereof during the movement of the actuating arrangement toward the extended position thereof. The actuating arrangement has an actuating portion which is accessible from the exterior of the casing, and a cam portion which engages an abutment surface of the clamping arrangement during the displacement of the actuating arrangement toward the extended position. The actuating arrangement may be arrested at least in the extended position thereof to thereby retain the clamping arrangement in the disengaged position during the exchange of the sanding element. Air may be withdrawn from the space bounded by the casing so as to remove dust resulting from the sanding operation from the vicinity of the sanding plate.
