A hair cutting appliance is configured to be moved through hair in a moving direction in order to cut hair. The hair cutting appliance includes a housing portion, a blade set having a skin-facing top surface, and a releasable attachment comb. The blade set is arranged pivotably with respect to the housing portion. The attachment comb includes a supporting frame, at least one spacing guard element configured to space the blade set from a working surface when in operation, a mounting portion configured to be attached to a housing portion of the hair cutting appliance, and an orientation determining portion configured to engage the blade set and to define a locking orientation of the blade set when mounted to the hair cutting appliance.

A stationary blade for a blade set of a hair cutting appliance is arranged to be moved through hair in a moving direction to cut hair. The stationary blade includes: a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation; a second wall portion at least partially offset from the first wall portion; and at least one toothed leading edge comprising a plurality of teeth and being jointly provided by the first wall portion and the second wall portion. The first wall portion and the second wall portion are connected at a frontal end of the at least one toothed leading edge to provide tips of the teeth. A blade set including the stationary blade and a moveable cutting blade are also arranged to cut hair. A method of fabricating a blade set is also described.

The present invention relates to a hair cutting appliance () comprising a blade set (), and to a blade set () of a hair cutting appliance (). The blade set () is arranged to be moved through hair in an assumed moving direction () to cut hair. The blade set () comprises a stationary blade (), a movable blade (), and a lateral protecting element (). The stationary blade () comprises at least one toothed cutting edge (), a lateral end (), and a first surface () that is arranged, when in use for shaving purposes, as a skin-contacting surface. The movable blade () comprises a toothed cutting edge (). The stationary blade () and the movable blade () are arranged to be reciprocally moved with respect to each other in a cutting direction (Y) that is basically perpendicular to the assumed moving direction (). The lateral protecting element () is associated with the lateral end (), thereby defining a lateral end cap of the stationary blade (), wherein the lateral protecting element () laterally shields a lateral edge () of the lateral end (), such that, when in use, skin contact of the lateral edge () is prevented. The lateral protecting element () and the lateral end () cooperate so as to prevent hairs from being trapped therebetween. The stationary blade () and the movable blade () are at least partially made from steel, and the lateral protecting element () is made from plastic material. The blade set () configured to pivot or swivel with respect to a housing of the hair cutting appliance ().

Hair cutting appliance and blade set

A hair cutting appliance includes a stationary blade having a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation; and a second wall portion offset from the first wall portion such that the first and second wall portions a guide slot that receives a movable cutter blade. A toothed leading edge is jointly formed by the first and second wall portions. Teeth at the toothed leading edge include a first leg defined by the first wall portion, and a second leg defined by the second wall portion. The first and second wall portions are connected at a frontal end of the toothed leading edge, thereby forming tips of the teeth. The second legs of the teeth are tapered along a portion of their longitudinal extension towards a bottom side of the stationary blade facing away from the skin, when in operation.

To solve discomfort and safety issues caused by sharp glide sides, a shaving assembly and a hair cutting appliance including the shaving assembly with a protection element is provided. The shaving assembly comprising a supporting member; a cutting element extending in the first direction; a guard foil stretched and extending in the first direction and surrounding the cutting element, the guard foil including a bent part and a flat contact surface, wherein the bent part extends in the first direction for fixing the guard foil on the supporting member, and the flat contact surface is adapted to be in contact with skin; and a protection element arranged at at least one end of the guard foil and including a curved surface exposed to the skin.

Shaving assembly and hair cutting appliance

Embodiments of present disclosure relates to a shaving assembly and a hair cutting appliance comprising the shaving assembly. The shaving assembly comprises: a supporting arm extending in a first direction; a cutting element comprising at least one moving tooth arranged along the first direction; a guard foil extending in the first direction and surrounding the cutting element, the guard foil comprising: a contact surface and a bent part, wherein an angle between the contact surface and the supporting arm is an acute angle, and at least one guard tooth slot is formed across the contact surface and the supporting arm, wherein the shaving assembly further comprises: a blocking member extending between the moving tooth and the supporting arm in a second direction that is substantially perpendicular to the contact surface, wherein the blocking member is adapted to facilitate hair being released from the guard tooth slot when the guard tooth slot is moved against the hair.

A hair cutting appliance, a blade set for a hair cutting appliance, and to a stationary blade for the blade set. The stationary blade includes a first wall portion arranged to serve as a skin facing wall when in operation, a second wall portion at least partially offset from the first wall portion, such that the first wall portion and the second wall portion define therebetween a guide slot arranged to receive a movable cutter blade in a defined mating manner, and at least one toothed leading edge having a plurality of teeth jointly formed by the first wall portion and the second wall portion. The stationary blade is an integrally formed metal-plastic composite stationary blade. Also discussed is a blade set including an integrated foil shaving region, along with a method for manufacturing a respective blade.

A method of forming a sheet-metal based double-walled stationary blade includes providing a first and second pre-product layers, providing a guide slot for a cutter, and bonding longitudinal ends of the first and second pre-product layers together to include an offset forming a guide slot to receive a to-be-mounted cutter. The bonding includes melting or depositing material at transition zone, thereby forming tips of the stationary blade teeth which are arranged adjacent to the transition zone between the pre-product layers.
