A check valve for a spray nozzle including a tubular valve body, a shut-off member and a valve seat, wherein the shut-off member is mounted for movement at least in a longitudinal direction of the tubular valve body. The shut-off member is connected to the valve body by a corrugated tube disposed parallel to the longitudinal direction, wherein the shut-off member is biased toward the valve seat due to the spring effect of the corrugated tube. The check valve is suitable for use in, for example, descaling nozzles.

The invention relates to a spray nozzle, particularly a high pressure nozzle, for descaling steel products, having a mouthpiece, which is provided with a discharge opening and a discharge chamber, which tapers towards the discharge opening. According to the invention the discharge opening spans a curved surface and a surface surrounding the discharge opening boundary at each point of said boundary strikes the discharge opening boundary at an angle between 65 and 95&#xb0;, particularly 90&#xb0; to the median longitudinal axis. Use e.g. for descaling nozzles.

Spray nozzle

High pressure nozzle and method for the manufacture of a high pressure nozzle. The high pressure nozzle has a jet director located within a supply channel leading to a discharge opening. In an area directly surrounding the supply channel median longitudinal axis, the jet director has a free flow cross-section.

The invention relates to a cone nozzle with a nozzle body having a swirl chamber (), an inlet hole () arranged in a side wall of the swirl chamber () and an outlet hole () arranged in a first end wall of the swirl chamber (). In accordance with the invention a rotation-symmetrical projection () or a rotation-symmetrical recess is arranged on a second end wall of the swirl chamber opposite the first end wall and at least two blind holes () are arranged in the first end wall adjacent to the outlet hole (). Use for secondary cooling of continuous billet casting plant, for example.

Cone nozzle

A cooling arrangement for the rolling stand of a continuous casting system for heavy supports is provided with spraying nozzles which can be acted upon by cooling liquid and compressed air through supply pipes laid laterally in a longitudinal direction of the rolling stand. Only two supply pipes for cooling liquid and compressed air respectively are assigned to each side of the rolling stand. The supply pipes are laid parallel to one another and are equipped with connection flanges on which connection plates can be mounted in a simple manner and, in turn, are fixedly connected with spraying nozzles. This further development permits a simple mounting and demounting of the spraying nozzles and ensures a precise alignment of the spraying jets with respect to the billet to be processed.

Cooling arrangement for the rolling stand of a continuous casting system

A two-medium spraying nozzle is provided with a mixing chamber arranged in a housing and with one connection duct respectively leading into this mixing chamber for the feeding of a gaseous and of a liquid medium. A mouthpiece is connected behind the mixing chamber, in which mouthpiece a rotationally symmetrical central outlet opening is provided. In the bore of the mouthpiece, a swirl insert is arranged, and the outlet opening has a diameter which corresponds to no more than half the diameter of the bore of the mouthpiece. Such a two-medium spraying nozzle is unsusceptible to clogging and is particularly suitable for atomizing low-viscosity fluids for the cooling of continuous-casting systems for the production of steel.
