A lens assembly for an outer source of a mass spectrometer, the assembly comprising: a housing; a plurality of lens elements, each lens element comprising a radially extending electrically conductive protrusion, the lens elements being linearly arranged in the housing such that the protrusions are aligned with one another, and an interface connector having a plurality of sockets to receive the protrusions therein and create an electrical connection between the protrusions and sockets. A housing for a resistance temperature detector is also disclosed.

Outer source assembly and associated components

A nebuliser outlet comprises an inlet end and an outlet end, a first channel and one or more second channels arranged between the inlet end and the outlet end. The first channel is configured to receive a capillary, and the one or more second channels are configured to pass gas to the outlet end. The nebuliser outlet is a single integrated component.

A method of mass spectrometry is disclosed comprising repeatedly or continuously causing first analyte sample to be released or ejected from a first sample. A determination is made as to whether or not a quality threshold such as an intensity threshold has been met or exceeded, wherein if the quality threshold has been met or exceeded then the method further comprises repeatedly or continuously causing second analyte sample to be released or ejected from a second sample.

Data acquisition technique for rapid sampling

An inner source assembly for a mass spectrometer, the assembly comprising: a base; and a volume housing removably connectable to the base for retaining a repeller assembly therebetween, wherein one of the base and volume housing comprises at least two protrusions and the other of the volume housing and base comprises at least two corresponding slots to receive and retain said protrusions, wherein the protrusions are dissimilar to one another and/or the slots are dissimilar to one another.
