A medicament delivery device including a housing for receiving a syringe, the housing having first and second casing parts separably attachable to one another. The device further includes a sleeve receivable within the housing and including a tubular wall having an inner surface delimiting a bore and an opposing outer surface. A locking member is receivable within the second casing part such that the locking member is axially movable between first and second axial positions relative to the second casing part. In the first axial position the locking member is engageable with the outer surface to inhibit an axial movement of the sleeve relative to the first casing part. In the second axial position the locking member is disengageable from the outer surface. The device, in one or more embodiments, includes an application as an autoinjector.

Medicament delivery device with a removable cap and locking member for preventing accidental activation

A medicament delivery device comprises a housing and a syringe axially movable in the housing and the syringe having a barrel. The device further comprises a stopper axially movable in the barrel and which separates a first chamber and second chamber from one another. The stopper is axially movable in the barrel in response to a vapour pressure being received in the second chamber. The device also includes a biasing mechanism to axially move the syringe in the housing between a first syringe position and a second syringe position in response to a first reduction in the vapour pressure in the second chamber. In the first syringe position venting of the propellant from the second chamber through a first fluid pathway is permitted to enable the first reduction in the vapour pressure in the second chamber while venting of the propellant from the second chamber through a second fluid pathway is substantially prevented. In the second syringe position venting of the propellant from the second chamber through the second fluid pathway is permitted to enable a second reduction in the vapour pressure in the second chamber.

Medicament delivery device

A syringe propellable by propellant that boils at a predetermined temperature, the syringe including a barrel having an outlet at a front end, and a stopper axially moveable in the barrel. The stopper separates a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber being axially forwards of the stopper and being configured for containing a medicament, and the second chamber being axially rearwards of the stopper and being configured to receive propellant for acting on the stopper to move the stopper axially forwardly in the barrel to expel medicament through the outlet upon actuation of the syringe. The syringe further includes a third chamber for containing propellant. Upon actuation of the syringe, liquid propellant is released from the third chamber and boils outside of the third chamber at or above the predetermined temperature to provide an increasing vapor pressure in the second chamber that causes the stopper to move axially forwardly and begin to expel medicament through the outlet. At least one trigger for triggering an action is provided, the trigger activated in response to the pressure in the second chamber satisfying a predetermined condition.

A sub-assembly of a medicament delivery device, the sub-assembly including a housing for containing a propellant source, and a locking ring for attachment to the housing. The housing is configured to receive a flange of a syringe, the locking ring is configured to retain a syringe flange received in the housing between the locking ring and the housing when the locking ring is attached to the housing.

Medicament delivery device sub-assembly

A medicament delivery device () comprising a syringe () having a barrel with an open end, and an axially moveable stopper () received in the barrel separating a first chamber axially forwards of the stopper from a second chamber axially rearwards of the stopper. The medicament delivery device further including an expandable drive housing () arranged to receive a propellant from a propellant source () for providing a vapour pressure, the expandable drive housing having a narrow channel in fluid communication with the second chamber. The expandable drive housing is expandable upon receiving propellant from the propellant source and, upon expansion, causes forward axial movement of the syringe. Propellant introduced into the expandable housing may pass through the narrow channel into the second chamber and cause forward axial movement of the stopper in the barrel to expel medicament contained in the first chamber through the open end, where axial movement of the stopper in the barrel commences after axial movement of the syringe.

Medicament delivery device having gas propellant

A medicament delivery device has a syringe, a housing, a needle shield, a biasing member and one or more blocking members. The needle shield is biased axially forwardly by the biasing member so as to selectively cover a needle of the syringe. However, the biasing member is prevented from biasing the needle shield axially forwardly until a radial movement of the blocking members has occurred, which is precipitated by a forward axial movement of the syringe. Consequently, the forward movement of the syringe releases the needle shield to automatically make safe the device.

A medicament delivery device including a first container having a delivery outlet at a front end thereof and a first stopper axially moveable in the first container, the first stopper defining and separating a first chamber and a second chamber in the first container, where the first chamber is axially forwards of the first stopper and the second chamber is axially rearwards of the first stopper. The medicament delivery device further includes a second container having a second stopper axially moveable in the second container, the second stopper defining and separating a third chamber and a fourth chamber in the second container, where the third chamber is axially forwards of the second stopper and the fourth chamber is axially rearwards of the second stopper, and where the third chamber has a vent outlet in fluid communication with a venting chamber.

An injection device having an outer housing configured to receive a syringe. The syringe has a barrel for containing medicament and a needle in fluid communication with the barrel. The device further has a needle shield axially moveable relative to the outer housing between a needle covering position and a needle exposing position and a helical compression spring to bias the needle shield axially forwardly toward the needle covering position. A locking sleeve, axially movable relative to the outer housing between a non-locking position and a locking position, selectively limits axial movement of the needle shield. In a first configuration, the needle shield is axially slideable within the locking sleeve to permit rearward axial movement of the needle shield from the needle covering position to the needle exposing position.

Injection device

A sub-assembly for a medicament delivery device including a housing, a propellant source contained in and axially moveable relative to said housing, and a button axially moveable relative to said housing. At least part of said button is disposed axially rearwardly of part of said propellant source. The button includes one or more radially flexible blocking members, and the button is moveable between a first axial position in which the one or more radially flexible blocking members are radially restrained by the housing in a radially inward position that limits rearward axial movement of the propellant source, and a second axial position in which the one or more radially flexible blocking members are able to flex to a radially outward position and permit rearward axial movement of the propellant source relative to the button and the housing.

A syringe propellable by a propellant that boils at a predetermined temperature, the syringe comprising a barrel having an outlet at a front end, a stopper axially moveable in the barrel, and a third chamber for containing propellant. The stopper defines and separates a first chamber and a second chamber, the first chamber being axially forwards of the stopper and being configured for containing a medicament, and the second chamber being axially rearwards of the stopper and being configured to receive propellant for acting on the stopper to move the stopper axially forwardly in the barrel to expel medicament through the outlet upon actuation of the syringe. The syringe is configured such that, in use, upon actuation of the syringe, liquid propellant is released from the third chamber and boils outside of the third chamber at or above the predetermined temperature to provide an increasing vapor pressure in the second chamber that causes the stopper to move axially forwardly and begin to expel medicament from the first chamber through the outlet. During forward axial movement of the stopper in the barrel, propellant vents away from the second chamber through a vent hole.

A sub-assembly of a medicament delivery device, the sub-assembly including a propellant source having a reservoir housing defining a reservoir and a stem having a bore therethrough, at least one inlet in fluid communication with the bore, and an open outlet end in fluid communication with the bore, the stein being moveable relative to the reservoir housing between a first position in which the at least one inlet is not in fluid communication with the reservoir and a second position in which the at least one inlet is in fluid communication with the reservoir, the propellant source further including a biasing member for biasing the stem towards the first position. The sub-assembly further including a collet member having a first plurality of radially flexible fingers and a second plurality of radially flexible fingers.

The present invention relates to a sealing wafer () adapted to be arranged in a stoma receiving hole () of a base plate () comprising an attachment platform extending from an outer edge adapted to be attached to the base plate towards an inner edge defining a through-going hole () for receiving a stoma, the sealing wafer further comprising at least a first urging part extending transversely from the proximal surface facing towards the user during use of the attachment platform and wherein the first urging part is resilient in the direction transverse to the proximal surface. This provides a sealing wafer which is particularly suitable for use with a stoma around which the skin has an uneven curvature, such as a retracted stoma wherein the stoma has pulled back resulting in a crater-like area.

Seal for an ostomy appliance

An ostomy body side member with a sealing member is provided. The sealing member has a fixed base member defining an opening having a first diameter and a resilient sealing element comprising a stoma receiving orifice defining an inner boundary. The inner boundary of the stoma receiving orifice has a second diameter that is smaller than the first diameter of the frame. The sealing member is also provided with at least one adjustment member coupled between the fixed base member and the resilient sealing element. Furthermore, an alignment member for adjusting the tension of the at least one adjustment member is provided thereby allowing the diametrical dimension of the stoma sealing orifice to be adjusted from a first diameter to a second diameter.

Negative drawstring seal for an ostomy bag

A sealing wafer for use in an ostomy appliance is provided. The sealing wafer has an attachment platform with a distal surface capable of being attached to an ostomy bag, a proximal surface facing towards the user during use, and an opening having an inner boundary defining a stoma receiving opening. The sealing wafer further includes a fixed base member attached to the attachment platform and a rotating member arranged to rotate relative to the fixed base member. A sealing member is coupled between the fixed base member and the rotating member for providing a seal around a stoma and defining a stoma sealing orifice. When the rotating member is rotated relative to the base member, this rotation causes an increased or a decreased tension to be applied to the sealing member so that the diametrical dimensions of the stoma sealing orifice change from a first diameter to a second diameter. Thus a mechanical sealing member that can be used with one-piece ostomy appliances as well as with two-piece ostomy appliances is provided.
