A method of separating fluid phases in a well or riser. The method comprises: locating an inlet device of a flexible tubing at a substantially horizontal portion of the well or riser, wherein a portion of the flexible tubing extends into the well or riser and the flexible tubing terminates at the inlet device; biasing the inlet device against a wall of the well or riser; and extracting a stratified fluid phase from the well or riser through the inlet device and flexible tubing, wherein a shape of the inlet device is configured to match a shape of the wall.

In-line phase separation

A method of sealing a well comprises creating one or more openings in a tubing installed in a wellbore, in a location for a well seal; using a wireline to locate a stinger in that location; setting the stinger in that location; and forming a seal in the well in that location, by injecting sealant through said stinger.

Method of sealing a well

A pressure joint is provided for use with a floating installation () that is connected to a stiff riser (). A low pressure slip joint () connects the installation () to the stiff riser (). A telescopic assembly () fitted with a high pressure seal () is arranged to be fitted within the low pressure slip joint () when in a non-extended configuration, such that normal operation of the low pressure slip joint () is not impeded.

Pressure joint

A coupling device for connection and disconnection of bottomhole equipment includes a male part having a stinger with locking grooves and a female part includes a receptacle and a housing. The female part further includes a hold open sleeve below the receptacle, locking dogs arrange between the housing and the hold open sleeve, a locking sleeve arranged below the locking dogs, and a verifying bolt. By joining the male and female parts, the coupling device will lock automatically, as the hold open sleeve is pushed into the locking sleeve by the stinger, after which the locking dogs are pushed into the grooves of the stinger, after which the locking sleeve is pushed up over the locking dogs locking the locking dogs, after which the verifying bolt once the locking sleeve is in locking position will be pushed into an adapted opening in the locking sleeve, thereby verifying correct locking.

Coupling device for connection and disconnection of bottom-hole equipment

A method and a device for in situ formation of a seal () in a region () of an annulus () located around a pipe structure () in a well (), in which the method comprises the following steps: (A) to convey a perforation device into the pipe structure () to a location vis-a-vis said region () of the annulus (); (B) by means of the perforation device, to make at least one hole () through the pipe wall of the pipe structure () at said annulus region (); (C) to force a liquid sealing material, which is capable of entering into solid state, through said hole () and further into the annulus region () for the filling thereof, where-upon the sealing material enters into solid state and forms said seal (). The distinctive characteristic of the method is that step (C) thereof also comprises:&#x2014;to choose a fusible, solid-state packer material () as raw material for said seal material;&#x2014;to heat and melt at least a part of the solid-state packer material (); and&#x2014;subsequently, to force liquid packer material () into the annulus region () via the at least one hole () through said pipe wall, whereupon the liquid packer material () enters into solid state and forms said seal () in the annulus region ().
