A pressure sensor subsystem measures the pressure within a fuel pump and outputs an under-pressure signal when the measured pressure is below a predetermined threshold pressure value. A temperature sensor subsystem measures the temperature within the fuel pump and outputs an over-temperature signal when the measured temperature is above a predetermined threshold temperature value. A timing circuit monitors the pressure sensor subsystem and the temperature sensor subsystem for output of the under-pressure and over-temperature signals and outputs a pump disconnect signal when at least one of the signals is output for a prescribed time duration. A power controller disengages power from the pump upon output of a pump disconnect signal by the timing circuit.

Fuel pump with automatic shutoff

A lighting system for a bicycle. A lamp and a beam are mounted to the bicycle. A generator is mounted to the beam such that the beam holds the generator in position to be frictionally driven by contact with a bicycle wheel. The generator provides a three-phase output voltage. A sensor monitors the generator and provides an output signal proportional to the speed of the bicycle. A first sensing circuit receives the output signal from the sensor and provides a first control signal when the output signal exceeds a first predetermined value. The first control signal is operative to change the output voltage from the three-phase output voltage to a single-phase output voltage to prevent damage to the system.

Lighting system for a bicycle

A variable power conveyance apparatus for propelling loads under environments where the angle of inclination of a conveyance path may change. For these apparatuses, in particular, those located in aircraft cargo bays, drive units are constructed to drive heavy loads under all conditions, including up a slope. These drive units may be organized into sets for loading pallets into and out of the aircraft and along the left and right storage tracks within fore and aft sections of the aircraft. An inclinometer senses the aircraft's angle of inclination and generates a representative electronic signal. Control logic determines whether to apply, via an SCR circuit, a minimum voltage or a greater variable voltage if the selected set of drive units is called upon to drive the pallets up a slope. Three-phase voltage supplied to the selected set of drive units is thereby altered to provide only that voltage necessary to convey loads, and thus facilitates stalling of drive units supporting loads that have reached an end stop. This eliminates unnecessary roller wear and cargo deck maintenance.
