A fluid control system has a body with the inlet passage in fluid communication with a discharge passage. The position of a choke piston in the body controls flow of the fluid from the inlet passage to the discharge passage. A controller connected to the body has an actuator connected to a linkage that is connected to the choke piston. The controller positions the choke piston in the body using the actuator and the linkage to control the flow of a fluid from the inlet passage to the outlet passage.

Controller apparatus, system and/or method for controlling pressures in a fluid control system

This disclosure is generally drawn to systems, devices, apparatus, and/or methods related to choke systems for drilling environments. Specifically, the disclosed systems, devices, apparatus, and/or methods relate to choke calibration, position, and time display systems for drilling environments. In some examples, a choke display for providing choke status, position, time, and/or calibration information is provided, in some examples, an apparatus may include a circuit board having a right side and a left side, a first set of sensors disposed adjacent the right side of the circuit board, a second set of sensors disposed adjacent the left side of the circuit board, and a display portion configured to display a first mode and/or a second mode based on an actuation of the first set of sensors and an actuation of the second set of sensors.

Choke calibration, position, and/or time display

A vibratory separator including a skid having a skid magnet and a basket having a basket magnet disposed on the basket, wherein the skid magnet and the basket magnets are arranged to magnetically interact. Also, a method for operating a vibratory separator that includes supplying a current to a skid electromagnet disposed on a skid of the vibratory separator, and interacting the skid electromagnet with a basket magnet disposed on a basket of the vibratory separator.

Methods to increase force and change vibratory separator motion

Disclosed are a fluid control system and method of controlling operating pressures within a fluid system, where the fluid control system includes a choke assembly, a pressure generating device, and a linear motor. The choke assembly may include a housing and a choke member adapted for movement in the housing, controlling the flow of a fluid from an inlet passage to an outlet passage. The fluid applies a force on a first end of the choke member. The pressure generating device may be fluidly connected to a chamber and may contain a control fluid that applies a first force on a second end of the choke member. The linear motor may apply a second force on the second end of the choke member. The difference between the forces applied to the first and second ends of the choke member may affect the movement of the choke member in the housing.

The vibratory screen separator may have a stationary base, a movable basket, and at least one linear motor for imparting motion to the movable basket, and methods for using the vibratory screen separator. The linear motor may include a stationary component and a moving component, wherein the moving component is coupled to the movable basket, and wherein the stationary component is coupled to the stationary base. The method may include passing a material including solid particles onto the screen, and moving the basket with at least one linear motor having a movable component coupled to the basket and a stationary component coupled to a base.

A method of controlling one or more operating pressures within a subterranean borehole that includes a choke assembly is disclosed. The choke assembly may include a housing having an inlet passage, an axial bore, and a chamber, wherein a portion of the axial bore forms an outlet passage, and a choke member adapted for movement in the housing to control the flow of a fluid from the inlet passage to the outlet passage. The method may include applying a closing force to move the choke member toward a closed position, and applying a bias force to the choke member when in the closed position to reduce an overpressure required to initiate movement of the choke member from the closed position.

An apparatus operable is a hazardous area for controlling a choke assembly includes an air source, an air purge system in fluid communication with the air source, a remote operating panel receiving data from at least one remotely located wellbore sensor, a local operating panel in electronic communication with the remote operating panel, and an actuator coupled to the assembly to control pressure within the wellbore. The remote operating panel includes an airtight housing in fluid communication with the air purge system, wherein air from the air purge system is circulated through the housing, a plurality of operator controls for manually controlling operation of the pressure control assembly, and a display for visually displaying values of data received from the wellbore sensor. The local operating panel includes an airtight panel housing in fluid communication with the air purge system, wherein air from the air purge system is circulated through the panel housing, and a local operator controller having an operator interface for receiving operator instruction input into the local panel, and operable to receive operator instructions from the remote panel and transmit operator instructions. The actuator includes a motor in an explosion-proof housing coupled to the choke plate and operable to adjust the orifice through the choke plate, wherein the motor receives electronic communication of the operator instructions transmitted by the local operator controller, and a position indicator coupled to the choke plate for sensing the orifice opening and providing feedback of the choke plate position to the motor.

Apparatus for controlling a pressure control assembly in a hazardous area

A vibrating screen separator. The vibrating screen separator may be operated in a linear, an elliptical, or in a transition from elliptical to linear modes of operation. In the linear mode of operation, the screen separator moves along a reciprocating straight line path, and, in the elliptical mode of operation, the screen separator moves along an elliptical path. In the transitionary mode of operation, the screen separator is transitioned from movement along the elliptical path to movement along the linear path.

Motor control system for vibrating screen separator

A borehole includes a tubular member, a sealing member for sealing an annulus between the tubular member and the borehole, a pump for pumping fluidic materials into the tubular member, and an automatic choke for controllably releasing pressurized fluidic materials out of the annulus. A system and method monitor the operating pressure within the tubular member and compare the actual operating pressure with a desired operating pressure. The difference between the actual and desired operating pressure is then processed to control the operation of the automatic choke to thereby controllably bleed pressurized fluidic materials out of the annulus thereby creating back pressure within the borehole.

An intrinsically safe data acquisition system is disclosed for use in hazardous locations. The system includes a driller's console that itself is intrinsically safe and includes a large LCD monitor, keypad and local CPU. The monitor includes an intrinsically safe backlighting system. The system further includes satellite data acquisition and processing boxes that are also intrinsically safe and that are located within the hazardous area. Each satellite box includes its own CPU and acquires and locally processes signals received from a number of field sensors. The satellite box converts the signals into digital form, and transmits the data via a fiber optic communication channel to a master CPU box located in an unclassified area. A high current intrinsically safe barrier distributes power from the master CPU box to the satellite box for powering all the sensors supported by that satellite box. Another such barrier distributes all the power required by the driller's console.
