A garment, such as a sports uniform, may provide visibility zones and/or flicker zones to enhance the ability of teammates to perceive the wearer. Different zones on a garment may have different sets of visual properties that may contrast with one another and/or a visual background. A denier differential between layers of a garment may facilitate moisture transport across the layers of the garment. Flicker zones may be discrete from or combined with visibility zones. One or more zones of a garment may also be substantially non-reflective at wavelengths associated with the visual background encountered while wearing the garment.

Sports garments with enhanced visual and/or moisture management properties

The visual, cognitive, and coordination skills of a subject may be tested and/or trained by providing a variety of stimuli to a subject. Responses may be received from a subject, the appropriateness of which may depend upon the combination of stimuli provided to the subject. A touch screen display device may be used both to provide stimuli and to receive responses from a subject. Any number and type of output devices and input devices to receive responses may be used. Behavioral information and other data regarding the performance of a subject may be recorded. Scoring may be based upon the speed, accuracy, and other aspects of the performance of a subject.

Vision cognition and coordination testing and training

The visual and cognitive skills of a subject may be tested and/or trained by providing a visual stimulus to a subject. More particularly, a subject may be tested and/or trained when under a stress condition to determine the effect of a stress condition, such as a physical stress or a cognitive stress, on the subject's visual and sensory skills. A response may be received from a subject via an input device, the appropriateness of which may depend upon the stimulus provided to the subject. Behavioral information and other data regarding the performance of a subject and the possible effect of the stress condition may be recorded. Scoring may be based upon the speed, accuracy, and other aspects of the performance of a subject.

Vision and cognition testing and/or training under stress conditions

Balls for team and individual sports include a motion graphic that provides enhanced perception of ball rotation. The motion graphic is typically defined with a visual characteristic that contrast with a ball casing. The motion graphic includes first and second termination portions that are coupled by a connection region. The first and second termination portions are symmetrically situated with respect to a longitudinal axis and are asymmetric with respect to axes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The motion graphic and the ball casing can be provided with substantially opposite colors selected to exhibit similar or substantially the same reflectivities.

Unified vision testing and/or training kiosk may utilize display devices and input devices to administer a number of visual testing and/or training tasks to an individual. One or more display devices may provide desired resolution, geometry, and/or touch sensitivity. One or more input devices may receive inputs of different types from different positions relative to a display device. Methods of visual testing and/or training may utilize the one or more display devices, one or more input devices, and/or other types of equipment to evaluate and/or improve the visual abilities of an individual.

Unified vision testing and/or training

The present invention provides systems and methods for receiving an input to a sensory test or training activity by way of a touch-screen device. The touch-screen device receives instructions by way of a wireless communication protocol from a sensory testing and training device. The instructions may be comprised of a command to display a graphical element on the touch-screen device. As a result, the touch-screen device displays the graphical element on a display surface of the touch-screen device. Further, an input may be received from a subject in the form of a physical contact between the subject and the display surface of the touch-screen device. The input may be in response to a sensory test or a sensory training activity. Additionally, the touch-screen device communicates the input to the sensory training device utilizing a wireless communication protocol. In an additional embodiment, the touch-screen device provides feedback to a user.

The visual and/or visualization skills of a subject may be tested and/or trained using systems and methods in accordance with the present invention. Visual stimuli may be presented to a test subject. Measurements relating to the performance of the subject, such as stability information, eye movement data, physiological information, or other information, may be made both with and without visual stimuli being provided to a subject. Similar measurements may be made while the subject visualizes the visual stimuli, and the collected data may be compared to evaluate the subject's ability to visualize visual stimuli. Secondary stimuli may also be provided to subject as part of this process, or mental activities may be required by subject as well.

Visualization testing and/or training

This invention is related to systems and methods of analyzing sensory ability data. One embodiment of the present invention includes a method comprising the steps of receiving data from a remote location. The data is comprised of sensory ability data and demographic data associated with a subject. The data may then be stored. Further, the method includes identifying a potential evaluation level associated with the subject. The evaluation level is identified, at least in part, utilizing a sports tree function. The method also includes retrieving peer data associated with the potential evaluation level. Additionally, the method includes determining when the peer data is statistically powerful for use in generating a comparative profile of the sensory ability data associated with the subject. Additional embodiments develop training programs based on one or more training program functions.

Sensory testing data analysis by categories

Embodiments of the present invention relate to eyewear having an electrically switchable spectral transmittance lens(es). The eyewear includes a lens driver that controls the variable spectral transmittance lens(es). The lens driver is functional to alter a duration of a spectral transmittance state based on a desired frequency and/or duty cycle of the spectral transmittance state. A user may provide an input indicating the desired level of difficulty provided by the eyewear, wherein the input may indicate that the frequency, the duty cycle, or a combination of the two should be changed. As a result of changing a perceived level of difficulty presented by the eyewear, a wearer of the eyewear may train his or her visual abilities to provide a competitive advantage. The input may be received at a receiving module as a remote signal from the user or a third party.

Adjustable spectral transmittance eyewear

Aspects of the present invention relate to a multi-sensory manipulation system. The multi-sensory manipulation system is useable to train one or more senses through the manipulation of one or more sensory inputs as perceived by a user. The multi-sensory system may be used train a variety of senses, such as vision, hearing, olfactory, taste, touch, and the like. Consequently, the multi-sensory system may be comprised of a first sensory vitiation device that vitiates a sensory input for the first sense. The multi-sensory system may be comprised of a first sensory vitiation driver that generates vitiations instructions useable by the first sensory vitiation device. The multi-sensory system may also be comprised of a controller to coordinate one or more sensory drivers and/or one or more sensory vitiation devices to allow for the training of one or more senses through the manipulation of multiple sensory inputs.

Multi-sensory manipulation

System and methods for testing and/or training a subject's visual ability are provided. More specifically, the method may include testing various aspects of the subject's visual acuity, such as clarity, contrast, tracking, etc. By using various tests, a more efficient examination may be administered. In accordance with the invention, an individual may be tested using methods of testing and/or training at a unitary center, where the unitary center is capable of presenting visual tests to the individual, receiving input from the individual, and processing the received input. Such a unitary test center may further be configurable, so that the tests administered may vary based on the needs of the individual. The received input may then, for example, be used to compute data related to the user's visual acuity, both overall and for each individual test.

Systems and methods may test and/or train the peripheral visual abilities of an individual. Peripheral visual abilities may be tested and/or trained while maintaining a central visual focus by the individual. A central display element may display central visual indicia, while a peripheral display element may display peripheral visual indicia. Each visual indicia displayed may possess one or more trait and, optionally, one or more property. Inputs may be received at a central input device and/or a peripheral input device, with inputs corresponding to the traits perceived to be possessed by displayed indicia. By determining the correspondence of received inputs to the traits possessed by corresponding indicia, the peripheral visual abilities of an individual may be tested and/or trained in accordance with the present invention.
