An article of manufacture, a system, and a method for at least partially deionizing water, including but not limited to converting tap water into essentially deionized water that can be used for numerous purposes including, but not limited to cleaning and/or treating surfaces, including surfaces such as ceramic, steel, plastic, glass and/or painted surfaces such as the exterior surface of a vehicle, is disclosed.

The present invention relates to a system and method for cleaning and/or treating a surface, preferably surfaces such as ceramic, steel, plastic, glass and/or painted surfaces such as the exterior surface of a vehicle. The system and method utilize a cleaning composition that contains at least one water-soluble or water dispersible copolymer. The method may also include a step of applying to the surface a treating composition which contains non-photoactive nanoparticles.

A process is described wherein a surface, for example the exterior surface of a vehicle, is contacted with a cleaning composition capable of rendering the surface treated hydrophilic and then rinsed with purified rinse water. Preferably the process also involves a pre-wetting step, wherein the surface is rinsed with water prior to being contacted with the cleaning composition, and/or an additional rinsing step, wherein the surface is rinsed with unpurified water prior to rinsing with the purified rinse water.

Long lasting coatings for modifying hard surfaces and processes for applying the same

The present invention relates to a system and method for cleaning and/or treating a surface, preferably surfaces such as ceramic, steel, plastic, glass and/or painted surfaces such as the exterior surface of a vehicle. In one embodiment, the method forms a transparent, hydrophilic coating on the surface of a vehicle. This embodiment of the method includes the steps of: (a) providing a vehicle having at least some surfaces that are at least one of the following: cured painted surfaces, cured clearcoat surfaces, and glass surfaces; (b) applying a non-photoactive nanoparticle coating composition to such surfaces; and (c) allowing the coating composition to dry on such surfaces before the surfaces are contacted by water.

A method by which medical equipment, such as surgical scalpels, can be sanitized using a detergent or treating composition containing a surfactant and a solvent such as water is disclosed. The method involves taking the used medical equipment and contacting it with the treating composition, and subjecting both the equipment and composition to microwaves. The composition foams during microwaving and/or immerses the equipment such that microwave arcing is avoided, and such that the medical equipment is sanitized.
