The subject invention is directed to polymer compositions having improved bond performance, to a method for improving the bond performance of a polymer composition, and to fabricated articles, such as fibers and fabrics which exhibit an improved bond performance, and to other fabricated articles, including but not limited to rotationally molded articles, prepared from polymer compositions of the invention.

Ethylene polymer having improving sealing performance and articles fabricated from the same

Gaskets comprising either at least one homogeneously branched ethylene polymer or at least one elastic substantially linear ethylene polymer, at least one ethylene/carboxylic acid interpolymer; and at least one slip agent are disclosed. These gaskets may also contain enhanced polyethylenes produced by the direct polymerization of various combinations of novel elastic substantially linear olefin polymers in multiple reactors using either single or multiple catalysts. These gaskets may also be comprised of at least one ethylene polymer and at least one ionomer. The above mentioned gaskets may also contain slip agents and/or foaming agents. The gaskets are particularly useful for sealing food and liquid containers and do not contribute to taste and/or odor of the packaged product, which is especially useful in food-stuff applications. Gaskets comprising substantially linear ethylene polymers have processability similar to highly branched low density polyethylene (LDPE), but the strength and toughness of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE).

Modified polymer compositions having good flowabilty, impact performance and modulus made from at least one polyolefin (e.g., high density polyethylene or polypropylene) blended with minor amounts of either at least one homogeneous linear ethylene/C.sub.5 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin or at least one substantially linear ethylene/C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin polymer are disclosed. The compositions are suitable for thermoformed or molded thinwall applications such as drinking cups, lids, and food containers where the flow length to wall thickness ratios are greater than about 180:1. A process of making thin wall articles is also disclosed.

Impact modified thinwall polymer compositions

Modified polymer compositions having good flowability, impact performance and modulus made from at least polyolefin (e.g., high density polyethylene or polypropylene) blended with minor amounts of either at least one homogeneous linear ethylene/C.sub.5 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin or at least one substantially linear ethylene/C.sub.3 -C.sub.20 .alpha.-olefin polymer are disclosed. Foamed gaskets comprising at least one homogeneously branched ethylene polymer and at least one blowing agent are disclosed. The gaskets are particularly useful for sealing food and liquid containers and do not contribute to taste and/or odor of the packaged product, which is especially useful in food-stuff applications.

Advanced resins and unadvanced epoxy resins are disclosed wherein the unadvanced compound and at least a portion of the advanced epoxy resin contains at least one --O--R.sup.1 --O-- or --(O--CH.sub.2 --CHR.sup.2).sub.n --O -- group as a bridge between two groups selected independently from the group consisting of (1) a saturated or unsaturated cycloaliphatic group, (2) an aromatic group, (3) a group represented by the formula ##STR1## or (4) a group represented by the formula ##STR2## Also disclosed are nucleophilic derivatives thereof, as well as curable compositions and coating compositions containing the advanced or unadvanced epoxy resins or nucleophilic modified advanced or unadvanced epoxy resins. These advanced resins and unadvanced epoxy resins provide coatings with good flexibility or formability as exhibited by good flexural or formable properties determined by reverse impact, T-bend and wedge-bend tests, chip resistance, and with good corrosion resistance and throwpower.

Advanced and unadvanced compositions, nucleophilic derivatives thereof
