In certain embodiments, a power generator has a rotor, a stator, a bridge rectifier, and one or more capacitors. The stator has one or more inductors that generate phased AC power when the rotor moves relative to the stator. The bridge rectifier, which is connected between the inductors and two output terminals of the power generator, converts the phased AC power into a DC output current at the two output terminals. The capacitors are connected to the inductors to electro-magnetically resonate when the rotor moves relative to the stator to increase peak amplitudes of the phased AC power and thereby increase the level of the DC output current. In certain applications, the increased. DC output current enables the power generator to charge a battery faster and more efficiently.

A custom-shaped wireless fence system is provided that contains one or more dogs in a user-defined containment area without the need for a physical fence or underground wire. The system, which is easy to set up and use, includes at least three base units and at least one collar and, preferably, a remote controller. Each of the base units and the at least one collar includes a component for reducing clock speed variation between the base and collar units, preferably to +/&#x2212;5 ppm, to effectively eliminate communication errors between the base and collar units.

A security tag for use with an electronic security system which functions within a second frequency range comprises a substantially planar dielectric substrate having first and second sides. A first conductive pattern is provided on the first side of the substrate, the first conductive pattern comprising at least a first inductive element, a first plate of a first capacitive element and a first plate of a second capacitive element. A second conductive pattern located on the second side of the substrate comprises at least a second inductive element, a second plate of the first capacitive element and a second plate of a second capacitive element with the plates of the capacitive elements being generally aligned. The inductive elements and the capacitive elements form a resonant circuit which resonates at a first frequency within a first frequency range which is outside of the second frequency range. A direct electrical connection extends through the substrate to electrically connect the first conductive pattern to the second conductive pattern to thereby continuously maintain both sides of the substrate at substantially same static charge level.

A highly efficient resonant switching driver circuit includes a matching reactance coupled between an output resonant circuit and a driver circuit. The matching reactance performs a series to parallel impedance match from the driver circuit to the output resonant circuit.

A multiple loop antenna is provided which may be connected to either a transmit circuit, a receive circuit, or a transmit/receive circuit. When powered by a transmit circuit, the antenna generates radio frequency magnetic fields in an area or zone proximate to the antenna, but which are substantially canceled at a distance approximately one wavelength and more from the antenna, thereby defining a surveillance zone proximate to the antenna. The loop antenna includes a first, upper loop and a second, lower loop. The upper and loser loops lie in separate, spaced, parallel planes and are preferably disposed at a fixed angle with respect to the surveillance zone.
