Systems and methods of indicating to a line worker when there is a defective zipper profile extruded onto a generally flat plastic web while moving in a feed direction in a re-sealable container production line. The system includes a sensor for detecting the defective zipper profile and a web distortion device that actuates in response to the sensor detecting the defect. The web distortion device keeps the web bunched together while it spools onto a roll support device located downstream thereby making it readily apparent to a line worker that the bunched segment contains the defective segment.

Defective web identification system and method

A system and method for extruding film with a thickened profile section. In some embodiments, the film forms bags with integral zipper profiles. Plastic film is extruded to form a tube. During extrusion, cooling jets direct cooling gases toward the thickened profile section below the frost line to preferentially cool the thickened profile sections. In some embodiments, warm air is drawn out of the tube interior through hot air intakes located below the frost line. In certain embodiments, the film is extruded at a higher rate of speed than conventional processes. Likewise, the extruded film tube is expanded at a lower blow up ratio than conventional processes in certain preferred embodiments. In some embodiments, the extrusion system includes an air flow surface oriented relative to the film tube to define an air flow gap of substantially uniform thickness.

The present disclosure relates to a storage bag for expressed mother's milk, particularly one which can receive the milk directly from a pump. The hanging milk storage bag includes semi-circular perforations or other lines of weakness for creating an aperture to receive the breast milk pump. The hanging milk storage bag further includes upper linear perforations or other lines of weakness for creating an opening at the top of the hanging milk storage bag for pouring the contents into a subsequent receptacle. The hanging milk storage bag further includes a leak-resistant zipper for forming a storage volume.
