Films including a Layer A comprising 50.0 to 100.0 wt. %, based on the weight of the Layer A, of an ethylene-based polymer composition having therein a hafnium:zirconium (ppm/ppm) ratio &#x3e;1.0, a CDBI less than 50%, and a g'&#x2267;0.98; wherein the Layer A is substantially free of polyethylene having 0.50&#x2266;g&#x2032;&#x2266;0.85 are described. Particular films are suitable as cast films for TD shrink and draw tape bag applications.

Films comprising ethylene-based polymers and methods of making same

An ethylene-based polymer comprising about 80.0 to 99.0 wt. % of polymer units derived from ethylene and about 1.0 to about 20.0 wt. % of polymer units derived from one or more Cto C&#x3b1;-olefin comonomers; the ethylene-based polymer having: a CDBI of 60% to 80%; a melt index, I, of about 4.0 to about 12.0 g/10 min.; a high-load melt index, I, of 80.0 to about 160.0 g/10 min.; a melt index ratio (I/I) of 9.0 to 40.0; and a density of from about 0.910 to about 0.930 g/cm. Articles, such as films, particularly suitable for use in pre-stretch applications, produced from such polymers and methods of making such articles are also provided.

Ethylene based polymers and articles made therefrom

Provided are ethylene-based polymer compositions, articles made therefrom, and methods of making the same. Ethylene-based polymer compositions include blends of a linear low density polyethylene prepared with metallocene catalyst and a low density polyethylene. The linear low density polyethylene may optionally have about five mole percent or less of monomer units derived from an alpha-olefin comonomer. Articles composed of such ethylene-based polymer compositions, such as blown films, exhibit favorable physical properties, including excellent optical properties and retained strength i.e., mitigation of expected decline in physical strength due to LDPE addition.

This invention relates to blends of linear low density polyethylene copolymers with other linear low density polyethylenes or very low density, low density, medium density, high density, and differentiated polyethylenes. The invention also includes articles produced from the linear low density polyethylene and polyethylene blends described.

Linear low density polymer blends and articles made therefrom

A very low density polyethylene having a density of 0.890 to 0.915 and a Dart Drop value of at least about 450 g/mil or above is disclosed. Gas phase polymerization methods are also disclosed for making very low density linear polyolefins utilizing a metallocene catalyst, and the resulting polyolefin products. In a specific embodiment, a gas phase polymerization process is disclosed relating to the formation of a linear polyethylene having a very low density, e.g., ranging from 0.890 to 0.915, but with improved toughness.

Metallocene-produced very low density polyethylenes

The present invention provides a polymer blend suitable for use as a film or a coating, the polymer blend including from 1 to 99% by weight of a metallocene-produced VLDPE polymer having a density less than 0.916 g/cm , and from 1 to 99% by weight of an LDPE polymer having a density of from 0.916 to 0.928 g/cm wherein the sum of (a) and (b) is 100%. The VLDPE polymer can have a melt index of from 6 to 15 dg/min, or from 9 to 12 dg/min. The present invention further provides polymeric films extrusion cast from such polymer blends, and articles having a flexible substrate and a polymeric film extrusion-coated on the substrate
