A network-based method and system for analyzing and displaying reliability data from a user is provided. The method includes recording reliability data, obtaining unreliability plots, obtaining Weibull distribution parameters, creating control charts for those parameters over time, and obtaining hypothesis tests to ensure reliability has not changed due to process variation.

Network-based method and system for analyzing and displaying reliability data

A quality management system and computer based process for managing quality are disclosed. The quality management system includes a set of networked operator stations for entering data including critical to quality customer information and information relating to the equipment to be monitored on a quality basis. The system further includes an application server on the network for running the programs of the system such as critical to quality setup, report generation, logging to the database, and maintenance events. A database server is further included on the network for storing the local database. A web server holding a capability warehouse connects to the local database over a web connection. The process for managing the quality of the monitored electrical equipment includes sending process capability data from the local database to the capability warehouse, updating an entitlement database embedded in the capability warehouse, delivering new schema information to the local database from the entitlement database, and reporting information to the customer at an operator station via an automatic or requested report.

Quality management system with human-machine interface for industrial automation

A procedure and method for eliciting expert information on process capability and thereafter manipulating the elicited information in such a manner that it can effectively be used in a process capability database that is operating in a six sigma regime. The manipulation preferably includes converting the expert elicited information from a tolerance-type metric to a short term standard deviation (or sigma) metric, whereby the result of the manipulation is used to populate directly a process capability database and, as appropriate, thereby augment, replace or modulate the data already stored therein.

Method for creating a process capability database

A method of developing a confidence level in reliability or producibility prediction scores that includes generating data for a set of factors, inserting the data into scorecards and dashboards, and calculating an overall Z score and Z confidence range. The scorecards and dashboards are used to calculate the confidence level in reliability scores. Each reliability or producibility factor may be weighted as to its importance to the overall confidence level. Factors included in the method include accuracy of the critical to quality flowdown; completeness of the critical to quality flowdown; percentage of the design analyzed; comprehensiveness of the design analysis; risk assessment analysis; percentage of component. subassembly or product reuse from other projects; percentage of the design complete; verification of the process capability; plant integration; order to remittance process integration; extent of pilot run; and effectiveness of a test plan.
