A method and system for conducting an interactive lottery game between players and a lottery gaming organization are provided. Player game indicia are displayed to the player on a graphical user interface along with separately displayed game indicia assigned to the gaming organization for play of the game. The player selects one of the game indicia via the user interface, with the player's selection designated on the user interface without being revealed to the gaming organization. The gaming organization subsequently randomly selects one of the game indicia, which is displayed to the player on the user interface. The system determines whether the player-selected game indicia match predetermined criteria as a function of the randomly selected game indicia. The steps are repeated until no game indicia remain or no further matches are possible.

Lottery game with interactive game indicia selection

A multi-matrix lottery game allowing cross-matching between two sets of player indicia against two sets of game indicia drawn by a lottery authority is provided. A player selects one set of indicia from a first set of indicia matrix and another set of indicia from a second set of indicia matrix. A system and method of playing an extension game to a lottery game is disclosed. A lottery game player enters a base game and receives a base game entry, and may elect to play a second lottery game in addition to the base game, and if so, selects or has selected for them game indicia therefor. A winning entry for the base game is selected, whereupon the winning game indicia for the second game is selected to be the game indicia selected for the second game on the winning base game entry. Lottery players who won the base game receive a prize, and those lottery players who did not win the base game but that have the winning game indicia for the second game, as well as those lottery players that won the base game and have the have the winning game indicia for the second game, receive a prize.
