A DC-to-DC converter comprises a first switch, a second switch coupled to the first switch, an inductor, and a plurality of serially connected power transistors. The first switch is to couple an input voltage to a common node. The first and second switches to be turned on and off in a reciprocating manner so as to couple either the input voltage or ground to the common node. The inductor, connecting the common node to an output voltage node of the DC-to-DC converter, is configured to control a voltage at the output voltage node based on current flowing through the inductor. The plurality of power transistors are concurrently controlled by a first signal that is based on a value of a voltage at the common node and a supply voltage, the serially connected power transistors to control an amount of current flowing through the inductor. Moreover, the first signal is used to prevent a high voltage drop from overstressing the plurality of power transistors while the first switch is on.

Current sense controller for a DC-to-DC converter

A buck regulator switching power supply () selectively enabling a low side device to effectively recharge a bootstrap capacitor (C) during a high duty cycle of operation. The switching power supply () includes a gate driver () driving a gate of a high side FET (Q) responsive to a controller circuit (). Controller circuit () includes a controller () responsively controlled by a comparator (). Comparator () senses the charge of the charging side of the bootstrap capacitor (C) as compared to a voltage (V). The comparator () also responsively generates an output signal on an output line () as a function of the voltage at the phased output.

Guaranteed bootstrap hold-up circuit for buck high side switch

Systems and methods are provided for detecting a state change of a level shifter and actively driving the level shifter into the new state to facilitate the recovery of the level shifter. The system and method also provide logic for setting up the level shifter for the next transition. A transition of a high logic to low logic of a first internal node and a second internal node is monitored. The first internal node and the second internal node transition between opposing logic levels, such that one internal node is pulled low and the other internal node is pulled high. The monitor determines when one node is pulled low and actively drives the other node to a logic high to facilitate the recovery of the level shifter.

Pulse response of fast level shifter

A switching power supply or switching regulator is provided with a control circuit that controls a switching signal to a first switch. The switching signal is also coupled to a second switch in an inverted state, such as the first and second switches are switched &ldquo;ON&rdquo; and &ldquo;OFF&rdquo; in opposing states. The first switch and the second switch are coupled through a common node. The second switch is also coupled to ground. An inductor is coupled to the common node and an output capacitor. The switching signal generates an operating current through the inductor that charges the output capacitor to provide a regulated voltage at an output terminal. The second switch is designed to handle the small reverse current that occurs when the first switch is turned off preventing the regulator from entering a discontinuous mode during light load conditions.

Non-synchronous switching regulator with improved output regulation at light or low loads

A variable DC/DC converter system is provided that includes a feedback voltage device and a compensation device. The compensation device and compensation components are integrated into a single integrated circuit. The feedback voltage device is integrated into the single integrated circuit. The values of a first resistor and a second resistor determine the output voltage of the DC/DC converter system. The first resistor and second resistor can be external to the integrated circuit and selectable to provide a desired output voltage. Alternatively, the first resistor can be integrated into the integrated circuit, while the second resistor is external to the integrated circuit and selectable to provide a desired output voltage.
