An Euler disc comprises a metal disc body having a maximum radius, an upper surface, a lower surface, a circular polished rounded edge joining the upper surface and the lower surface, and a maximum thickness. The upper surface is formed so that the cross-sectional area of the disc body that is above a horizontal bisector line and outside of a vertical quarter line drawn at one half of the maximum radius is less than 75% of the cross-sectional area of the disc body that is below the horizontal bisector line and outside of the vertical quarter line.

The present invention is a structure for holding and forming an optical mirror disc. A puller plate is attached to an elastic layer to the back surface of the mirror. A tensioner applies axial tension to the puller plate. A perimeter support engages the perimeter of the disc and reacts the axial tension into an axial compression force acting on the perimeter of the disc, flexing the disc into a desired shape.

A yo-yo comprising right and left bodies surrounded by thick, radially anchored, soft rubber outer cushions has a string gap having a contour that includes an innermost gap which is narrower than other regions of the string gap. The string gap may have a narrowed neck region located between the innermost gap and the outer diameter of the yo-yo. The yo-yo may include an axle which is permitted to rotate within the left body of the yo-yo but retained by a locknut seated in the right body of the yo-yo.

A locknut according comprises a C-shaped nut with a radial gap cut through one side. The locknut functionality is provided by making the threads of the nut undersize, by deforming the C-shape inward such that the internal threads are out of round until the nut is assembled on a screw, or by twisting the nut so as to axially displace the threads on opposite sides of the gap.

A football having a grip configuration which permits the thrower to easily reproduce his optimum hand location with every throw comprises a body with at least one elongated indentation on its surface. The indentation is intersected by a plurality of transverse bulkheads which divide the indentation into a plurality of finger pockets. In specific embodiments, more than four finger pockets are provided to permit an individual thrower to vary his grip location to that which best suits his throw.

A hydroplane hull according to the present invention comprises a forebottom surface and an afterbottom surface connected by a step. The afterbottom surface has an aft portion formed with a positive trim angle and a forward portion with a non-negative trim angle which is of lesser angle than that of the aft portion.

A voltage controlled equalizer has two parallel signal paths. A first signal path is provided by a delay line coupled to an input of an amplifier. A control circuit is coupled between an input of the delay line and an output of the amplifier, via a second, parallel signal path. A control signal is applied to the control circuit to adjust the gain of the second signal path, thereby adjusting an amplitude versus frequency response characteristic of the equalizer. Signal delays caused by the control circuit are preferably selected substantially equal to those of the amplifier to compensate for undesired phase shifts of high frequency signals in the second signal path.
