A temperature compensator for a liquid flow meter. A bellows unit is mounted in the conduit carrying the liquid measured and an output from the bellows unit is taken to a disc-and-wheel mechanical compensator by means of a flexible cable drive. An adjustable pivot lever coupling allows adjustment of the drive ratio to the compensator according to the nature of the liquid.

Liquid flow meter

An air eliminator valve for automatically collecting and venting air and other gases included in flowing liquid. The valve has a chamber in which air collects, a float in the chamber and a vent valve at the top operated by the float to vent the chamber when the liquid level falls. The vent valve has a convex or concave seat with apertures therein and is sealed by a flexible diaphragm which is peeled progressively from the seat to open the valve. The diaphragm may be annular and fixed at its outer periphery, being flexed by a coupling at its center, or may be fixed at the center and flexed by a coupling at its periphery.

Air eliminator valve

A fluid control valve of the pilot operated kind has a main valve comprising a valve seat and valve member. The valve member is moved by piston action in response to fluid pressure in a control chamber. The control chamber may be coupled to the upstream pressure or the downstream pressure to close or open the valve respectively. When the valve is open there is a bleed of fluid through the control chamber via inlet and outlet passages from the upstream side and to the downstream side of the valve respectively. An auxiliary valve is situated in the downstream passage and effects control of the main valve. The auxiliary valve may be an on/off valve or a continuously controllable valve whereby the operating position of the main valve member may be controlled at an intermediate position automatically to limit flow rate.

Control valve

A fluid flow meter of the positive displacement rotary kind where a housing defines an annular passage coupling input and output ports, a rotor has depending blades which are driven around the passage by the flow of fluid and an idler has pockets which accommodate the rotor blades in sealed relationship as the blades pass from outlet to inlet, the invention being characterized in the provision of two rotors each having blades and pockets and two annular passages accommodating respectively the blades of the different rotors, and each rotor constitutes the idler for the other rotor.

Fluid flow meter

A liquid flow meter of a rotary positive-displacement kind comprising a rotor and an idler mounted in a housing having an inlet and an outlet port. The rotor has blades which are swept around the housing by the fluid and the idler has pockets within which the rotor blades are returned from outlet to inlet in a fluid seal. There are four blades and three pockets, the idler being geared to the rotor so that the idler rotates four revolutions for every three revolutions of the rotor. With this arrangement the blades twist very little while in the pockets and turbulence and drag is consequently reduced, leading to greater accuracy.
