Wax compositions are provided with improved properties for candles and candle jars. The candle wax composition includes a major amount of a foots oil and minor amount of a 600N slack wax. In one form, the foots oil is a 150N foots oil that is included in the composition at from 70 to 80 weight % of the composition and the 600N slack wax is included in the composition at from 20 to 30 wt % of the composition. The candle wax composition provides substantially no oil bleed and a smooth surface appearance with improved burning properties in terms of soot production, wax consumption, melt pool depth and flame height.

A gas engine oil of enhanced life as evidenced by a reduction in viscosity increase, oxidation, nitration. TAN increase, and TBN depletion comprises a major amount of a base oil of lubricating viscosity and at minor amount of a phenolic anti oxidant and a viscosity index improver, but excluding amine type anti oxydants.

A lubricating oil of enhanced life as evidenced by a reduction in viscosity increase, nitration, and TBN depletion and equivalent or improved oxidation and TAN increase performance relative to commercial oils comprises a major amount of a base oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of a mixture of one or more metal sulfonate(s) and/or phenate(s) and one or more metal salicylate(s) detergents, all such detergents used in the mixture being of the same or substantially similar Total Base Number (TBN).

The present invention is directed to a low ash natural gas engine oil which contains an additive package including a particular combination of detergents and also containing other standard additives such as dispersants, antioxidants, antiwear agents, metal deactivators, antifoamants and pour point depressants and viscosity index improvers. The low ash natural gas engine oil exhibits reduced deposit formation and enhanced resistance to oil oxidation and nitration.

Solvent-free lubricant compositions having improved lubricity properties comprising a basestock having a kinematic viscosity of about 1.5 to 3.0 cSt at 100.degree. C., about 3 to 15 wt % of bright stock having a kinematic viscosity about 20 to 40 cSt at 100.degree. C., about 3 to 15 wt % of a polyisobutylene having a number average molecular weight of about 400 to 1050 and about 3 to 15 wt % of a polyisobutylene having a number average molecular weight of about 1150 to 1650. Minor amounts of the lubricant composition may be incorporated into a distillate fuel to provide a lubricant oil-fuel composition for two-cycle engines.

The use of oxidants such as hydroperoxides in a lubricating oil have been found to be effective in reducing the war of one or more metal and/or ceramic surfaces in contact with an advanced ceramic surface. The reduced wear may be obtained in the absence of conventional antiwear additives such as zinc dialkyldithiophosphate.
