A pole piece structure is provided to be used as part of an active rotor structure for an electrical rotary machine, wherein the active rotor structure is circular comprising pole pieces and permanent magnets magnetized in the circumferential direction of the rotor structure, wherein the rotor pole piece structure is a single structure with at least two individually spaced pole pieces connected by an integration bridge. Further provided is a method of manufacturing a rotor pole piece structure and a rotor for an electrical machine with a rotor pole piece structure. The assembly of magnets to the pole pieces is significantly enhanced using these rotor pole piece structures as described.

Integrated rotor pole pieces

Disclosed is a stator device adapted to be arranged in an electrical machine, where the electrical machine further includes a moving device, where the stator device is a multi-phase stator device, where the phases are arranged side-by-side in a direction perpendicular to direction of motion of the moving device, and where each phase comprises a first stator core section having a set of teeth, a second stator core section having a set of teeth, and a coil, and where the teeth are arranged to protrude towards the moving device; and wherein at least two neighboring phases share a stator core section, so that the first stator core section of a first phase and a second stator core section of a second phase is formed as a single unit.

Multi-phase stator device

A permanent magnet machine is provided including a stator and a rotor, the rotor being adapted to rotate relative to the stator, the rotor including a plurality of permanent magnets separated in the circumferential direction from each other by radially extending rotor pole pieces for concentrating the magnetic flux from the permanent magnets, the stator having a structure that defines radial limits of an air gap between the stator and the rotor for communicating magnetic flux between the stator and the rotor, wherein at least some of the permanent magnets extend radially outside the radial limits of the air gap as defined by the stator structure.

Permanent magnet rotor with flux concentrating pole pieces

A compaction tool is provided for compacting an element from metal powder where the element has uniform axially displaced protrusions, and the tool comprises a die and a top and a bottom punch with punch surfaces. The top and bottom punch comprises displaceable opposing punch surfaces for displacing the metal powder there between before compacting the element. Additionally provided are a method for compacting an element from metal powder and an element made from such a method.

Stator compacted in one piece

An electrical, rotary machine may include a first stator core section being substantially circular and including a plurality of teeth, a second stator core section being substantially circular and including a plurality of teeth, a coil arranged between the first and second circular stator core sections, and a rotor including a plurality of permanent magnets. The first stator core section, the second stator core section, the coil and the rotor are encircling a common geometric axis, and the plurality of teeth of the first stator core section and the second stator core section are arranged to protrude towards the rotor. Additionally the teeth of the second stator core section are circumferentially displaced in relation to the teeth of the first stator core section, and the permanent magnets in the rotor are separated in the circumferential direction from each other by axially extending pole sections made from soft magnetic material.

Linear motor

An electrical machine is described, having a stationary main element as stator and a rotating main element as rotor, of which one main element having a magnetic yoke and poles, of a predefined number of poles, projecting radially from the former, is made of SMC material and carries a pole winding on each pole. To achieve cost-effective manufacturing of the main element, the main element is assembled from at least two modules that are axially adjacent, rigidly connected to one another, and produced from SMC material, each module having a yoke part, closed in on itself, of the magnetic yoke having an equal number of divisions of poles attached thereto in one piece, which corresponds to a fraction of the number of poles determined by the number of modules.

Electrical machine

A stator core for an electrical machine and a method for producing the same. Said stator core comprising a core back and a plurality of teeth arranged circumferentially at the core back and extending radially there from. The core back being made of at least one sheet of electrically insulated soft magnetic material arranged as a spiral. Said method comprising the acts of winding a sheet of electrically insulated soft magnetic material into a spiral in order to form a core back and attaching a plurality of teeth to the core back so that the teeth are circumferentially separated and extends radially from the core back.

Stator of an electrical machine

A stator () for an electrical machine. A core of the stator () is made up of a series of connected segments (), that are rotatable relative to one another during an assembly operation. Each segment () includes a radially outermost base portion () from which a respective integral pole piece () projects substantially inwardly to a pole piece tip. The tip includes a surface () that is arcuate and concentric with an axis of rotation of the machine. Each pole piece () projects in a non-radial direction and such that a semi-closed slot () arranged to locate part of a least one coil () therein is provided between each pair of juxtaposed pole pieces (). Stator for an electrical machine

An essentially ring shaped core back for an electrical machine comprising a plurality of stacked, ring shaped sheets of soft magnetic material, a barrier of electrical resistance arranged between two adjacent sheets of soft magnetic material for reducing effects of eddy currents. At least each sheet of soft magnetic material in a subset of said plurality of stacked, ring shaped sheets of soft magnetic material includes a plurality of circumferentially arranged tooth openings that are extending axially through each sheet in said subset of said plurality of stacked, ring shaped sheets of soft magnetic material, additionally, each sheet of said subset of said plurality of stacked, ring shaped sheets of soft magnetic material includes a first inner closing portion and a second inner closing portion that are arranged between each tooth opening and an inner perimeter of said ring shaped sheet of soft magnetic material. Each first inner closing portion is arranged to face a corresponding second inner closing portion.

Core back of an electrical machine and method for making the same

A stator or a rotor for an electrical machine comprises a plurality of circumferentially separated, radially extending teeth, wherein each tooth having a single winding and is provided with an axially and radially extending reluctance barrier to increase the reluctance of each tooth regarding propagation of a magnetic field not interacting with the winding of said tooth.
