An electrosurgical handpiece is provided that includes a squeezable handle. The squeezable handle has a back grip and a finger grip that can be squeezed to actuate electrosurgical handpiece. The back grip and the finger grip are connected by a lower malleable region that has an elasticity greater than the remainder of the squeezable handle.

Malleable electrosurgical instrument

An intervertebral disc surgical system has at least one optical cannula configured with a working channel and an optical channel, wherein the working channel and the optical channel are positioned parallel to one another. The working channel is configured to receive the elongated tubular member of an electrosurgical instrument and the optical channel is configured to receive an optical scope. The optical cannula has an optical cannula operative end for entering an operative field of a patient.

Optical cannula

A device is provided for generating RF power for an electrosurgical instrument, wherein the circuit provides the electrosurgical current according to a specified set of predefined parameters. The invention further includes at least one read and write RFID that reads information from a RFID tag. The circuit changes the parameters based on the information.

RF generator for an electrosurgical instrument

One embodiment of the present invention relates to an electrosurgical device for conducting surgery. The device includes a tubular housing and a plurality of electrodes disposed within said tubular housing. The device further includes an actuator connected to the plurality of electrodes to extend and retract at least one of the plurality electrodes to and from the tubular housing.

Electrosurgical electrode

One embodiment of the present invention relates to an electrosurgical handpiece that has a first main body and a second main body. A squeezable handle connects to and across the first main body and the second main body such that, when the handle is unsqueezed, the first main body and the second main body assume a first position relative to one another. When the handle is squeezed, the first main body and the second main body assumes a second position relative to one another. An active electrosurgical electrode is slidingly mounted within the second main body and extends from the second end. A spacer is positioned around and in sliding engagement with the smaller diameter region of the first main body.

Depth control for electrosurgical electrode

A device for generating RF power for an electrosurgical instrument is provided that includes a controller programmed to generate an electrical signal having an oscillating waveform and to modulate the oscillating waveform between a plurality of ON and OFF states to create discrete packets of the oscillating waveform in the plurality of the ON states. The device further has an amplifier in communication with the electrical waveform that amplifies the waveform to create an output signal and an electrosurgical connector configured to receive an electrosurgical instrument and to pass the electrical signal to the electrosurgical instrument.

An electrosurgical tool includes an electrically powered handpiece with a detachable electrode at one end and a power connection at the other. A mechanism for connecting the detachable electrode to the handpiece includes a keyed electrical connection to power the electrode. The handpiece includes a feedback controller incorporated in the tool to adjust operational characteristics of the electrosurgical tool.

Electrosurgical handpiece

An electrosurgical device that has a head having a face. A handle connectable to an RF generator. The device has a plurality of teeth extending from the face. At least one of the plurality of teeth as a first electrical charge. A second of the plurality of teeth has a second electrical charge.

Surgical tool and method having multiple electrodes

In one aspect, a fixed position RF electrode for conducting surgical procedures, includes a main device body detachably connectable to an RF generating system, a first polarized conductor and a second oppositely polarized conductor, a bipolar electrical conduit passing through the main device body that passes RF energy from the RF generating system to the first polarized conductor and the second oppositely polarized conductor, and a bipolar electrode for contacting a surgically operative material.

Fixed position RF electrode

A computer implemented method includes making a phone call from a sender to a receiver and providing a non-audio identifier to the receiver in a phone call signal of the phone call. The non-audio identifier provides access to information of the sender by the receiver.

Information transmission device and system

A tissue retractor device suitable for spinal surgery. The device includes base apparatus to which three blades are circumferentially hinged, the blades closing upon each other in default position from spring bias. A pusher mechanism is threadably connected to the base which spreads the blades by rotating the pusher in its threads relative to the base, which converts rotational motion to translational motion to angular motion of the blades about their respective hinges. One blade is longer than the others to present a multipurpose tip to the user of the device, such a tip being useful in avoiding nerve roots or other anatomy obstructing the surgical path. A dilator is threadably connected to the pusher, the dilator having a long hollow tube connected to a hollow tip extending beyond the blades to slide over guide-wire and initially position the device at the operative site, prior to using the pusher to retract patient's tissue.

Tissue retractor

An electrosurgical handpiece comprising a squeezable handle connected to extend and retract bipolar electrodes from a rigid tubular member. The bipolar electrodes comprise active separable distal ends and connecting links configured such that when the handle is unsqueezed, the active distal ends protrude from the distal end of the first tubular member and are adjacent one another, and when the handle is fully squeezed, the active distal ends are fully extended outwardly from the first tubular member and separate, and when the handle is relaxed but still partially squeezed, the active distal ends come together and touch first at their extreme ends and then touch over a broader area in a position to grasp tissue for receiving electrosurgical currents.

MIS electrosurgical handpiece

An electrosurgical instrument that is capable of generating high-quality RF energy carriers at one of three different frequencies and combining any of the three carriers with any one of four electrosurgical mode waveform modulations and selectively supplying the modulated carriers to either a monopolar or a bipolar handpiece. In a preferred embodiment, the first carrier frequency is in the range of about 3.8-4.0 MHz, the second carrier frequency is in the range of about 1.7-2.0 MHz, and the third carrier frequency is in the range of about 400-600 KHz.
