Described is a litter box liner having handle ties and a form-fitted bottom. The bottom may be square or rectangular-shaped and may be sized to fit into a particular size litter box. The bottom may include the feature that there are no foldovers contained therewithin. At least a bottom portion of the litter box liner may be reinforced to resist tears. Such a reinforcement layer may include a woven polypropylene fabric layer or an extruded polypropylene film. The litter box liner may be, at least in part, formed of high density polyethylene (HDPE), thereby providing an additional means for tear resistance in the litter box liner.

Litter Box Liner

To enhance evacuation of a storage bag having a one-way valve element and to reduce noise during evacuation, a handheld evacuation device includes one or more gaskets that can be made of resilient material. A gasket can be disposed about the rim of an inlet opening of the evacuation device to provide both a leak-free interface between the evacuation device and the storage bag and to reduce vibration and chatter of the evacuation device against a rigid support surface. A gasket can also be provided intermediately between a main body portion of the evacuation device and a nozzle portion that is to be placed adjacent to the storage bag during use. The intermediate gasket isolates vibrations in the main body portion thereby reducing vibrations and chatter of the evacuation device against a rigid support surface.

Device and method for evacuating storage bag

A ventable spin lock container comprising a container member having a bottom, an upper annular rim and a substantially continuous side wall extending from the bottom and terminating at the rim, the bottom and side wall defining a first member cavity, the rim including a first member skirt having a plurality of first threads, the plurality of first threads having substantially equidistant engagement points; and a closure member having a peripheral sealing portion, the sealing portion including a skirt having a plurality of second threads adapted and positioned to cooperate with the first threads, wherein sealable engagement of the container member and closure member is effectuated when the first and second threads are in a first position, and wherein a venting passage from the container member cavity to the container surroundings is provided when the first and second threads are in a second position.

Ventable spin lock container

Several embodiments of resilient slider members and methods of assembling such slider members onto interlocking fastening strips are disclosed herein. The slider member () comprises a pair of spaced-apart side walls () and an intermediate body portion () therebetween. In addition, each side wall includes an interior surface () with an inwardly projecting shoulder () formed thereon, an exterior surface (), and opposed end surfaces (). The method of assembling a slider member () onto interlocking fastening strips () includes the acts of: engaging respective side walls () of a slider member with first and second tools (); moving the first tool () away from the second tool () to resiliently spread apart the side walls () of the slider member; inserting interlocking fastening strips () between the spread apart side walls () of the slider member; and releasing the first and second tools () from engagement with the side walls () of the slider member to permit the side walls () to resiliently return to a relaxed position wherein the shoulders () formed on the interior surfaces of the side walls () are positioned to obstruct removal of the slider member () from the interlocking fastening strips ().

Method and apparatus for assembling slider members onto interlocking fastening strips

A tie bag includes a hem seal, at the mouth of the bag, which grips the top of a receptacle, when the tie bag is used as a liner for the receptacle, to preclude having the mouth of the bag fall into the receptacle. The hem seal forms a hem flap, which is cut in a geometric pattern to provide tie fasteners. The hem seal may also form a hem at the open mouth of the tie bag. The tie bag may further include a pair of secondary hem seals closing the hem at the opposing sides of the sidewalls.

Tie bag

A container () including a closure device () is disclosed. The closure device () includes a pair of interlocking fastening strips () and a slider () for occluding and deoccluding the fastening strips (). The fastening strips () are interlocked when the slider () is at a first end (). The slider () includes a separator () that is configured to urge the fastening strips () to wrap around the separator () to provide a seal when the slider () is at the first end () of the fastening strips (). The slider () can include a nose portion () for latching the slider () at the first end () of the fastening strips (). The slider () can include a valve (). The slider () can have different configurations.

Closure device

A stackable container lid comprising a lid member () having a center portion (), an edge portion () top and bottom surfaces () and closure means () adapted to cooperate with the closure device of a container bottom, the lid top surface () including a raised boss (), the raised boss () being disposed in the lid member center portion () and projecting outwardly from the lid member top surface (), the lid bottom surface () including a boss seat () adapted to receive the raised boss () of another said lid. The raised boss () and the boss seat () of another said lid are engagable by exerting a force on the lid top surface () of said another lid proximate the raised boss () of said another lid.

Stackable container lid

A closure device () is provided for use with storage containers (), such as plastic bags. The closure device () includes interlocking fastening strips () having first and second ends and a slider member () movably installed upon the interlocking fastening strips to facilitate the occlusion and deocclusion thereof. The slider member () includes a pair of spaced-apart side walls () which are positioned on opposite sides of the interlocking fastening strips () and an intermediate body portion () therebetween which is positioned upon the interlocking fastening strips. The slider member () also includes notches () formed therein which are adapted to engage cooperating protrusions () formed on the interlocking fastening strips () at the first and second ends () thereof to obstruct movement of the slider member () beyond the first and second ends ().

The closure device () includes interlocking fastening strips () and a slider () slidably disposed on the fastening strips for facilitating the occlusion and deocclusion of the fastening strips () when moved towards first and second ends thereof. A slider () is provided for facilitating the attachment of the slider () onto the fastening strips () in the horizontal X axis (). The slider () provides resistance against the removal of the slider () from the fastening strips () in the horizontal X axis () and the vertical Z axis ().

Apparatus and process for assembling a slider

A container () includes a closure device (). The closure device includes interlocking fastening strips () and a slider () slidably disposed on the fastening strips for facilitating the occlusion and deocclusion of the fastening strips. The slider includes first and second side portions () and a top portion (). The first side portion () includes pivot arms (). The pivot arms () include shoulders (). The second side portion () includes pivot arms (). The pivot arms () include shoulders (). The pivot arms () create a pivot point for the shoulders () that prevents the slider () from being removed from the fastening strips in the vertical Z axis (). The shoulders move into the fastening strips when an upward force () is applied in the Z axis (). The shoulders () also pivot outward when the slider () is being attached to the fastening strips (), making it easier to attach the slider.

A container () includes a closure device (). The closure device includes interlocking fastening strips () and a slider () slidably disposed on the fastening strips for facilitating the occlusion and deocclusion of the fastening strips. The slider includes a separator () that facilitates the deocclusion of the fastening strips. The container includes a seal () to provide a leak-proof closure by facilitating the occlusion of the closure device () after the slider () has been moved in the occlusion direction () and reached the end of the fastening strips. The seal () includes a curved portion that further facilitates the leak-proof closure. Additionally, a tactile indication that the closure device () has been fully occluded is given as the separator () passes over the seal (). Similarly, an audible indication may also be provided. The seal may be accomplished by heat sealing, ultrasonic sealing or adhesives that attach the sidewalls together.

The closure device includes interlocking fastening strips and a slider. The fastening strips include a flange portion that engages a separator on the slider. The flange portion angles inwardly toward the separator. The flange portion is altered at the closing end of the fastening strips to prevent the slider from opening the fastening strips a the closing end. The flange portion may be altered by flattening the flange portion.

A container () includes a closure device (). The closure device includes interlocking fastening strips () and a slider () slidably disposed on the fastening strips for facilitating the occlusion and deocclusion of the fastening strips. The slider () includes a top portion () and first and second side portions (). The slider additionally includes shoulders that merge into the first and second side portions and prevent the slider from being disengaged from the fastening strips. The slider includes long length front shoulders () and long length rear shoulders () in conjunction with shorter length front shoulders () and shorter length rear shoulders (). If an upward force () is applied to the slider (), the longer length shoulders are designed to remain engaged with the fastening strips when the side portions of the slider are forced to flex outward.

The closure device ()includes a first fastening strip (), a second fastening strip (), and a slider () adapted to be slidably disposed on the fastening strips. The slider () facilitates the occlusion of the fastening strips when moved towards a first end thereof. A first detent () is located at the first end of the fastening strips. The slider () includes a housing having a first flexible portion () for engaging the first detent () when the slider () is moved to the first end of the fastening strips. The first flexible portion () and detent () prevent removal of the slider () from the first end of the fastening strips () in the longitudinal X axis ().
