System and methods for incorporating virtual network computing ('VNC') into a cockpit display system ('CDS') are disclosed. A system and method for incorporating VNC into the CDS is comprised of a non-aircraft remote system and a CDS, where the non-aircraft remote system is comprised of a VNC client and a remote display unit, and the CDS comprised of, in part, a VNC server and a PM configured with a method employing an aviation-industry standard protocol (e.g., ARINC 661) and a VNC protocol. A Second method for incorporating VNC into the CDS is comprised of a non-aircraft remote system and a CDS, where the non-aircraft remote system is comprised of a VNC server and a remote display unit, and the CDS comprised of, in part, a VNC client and a processing module (&#x201c;PM&#x201d;) configured with a method employing an aviation-industry standard protocol and a VNC protocol.

ARINC 661 display system and methods incorporating non-ARINC 661 protocols

A plurality of present novel and non-trivial communication methods employed between the participants of a trajectory management operation is disclosed. A trajectory coordinator ('TC') generator may be configured to send data representative of a polling request to one or more of the participants, receive data responsive to the sending of the polling request, generate data representative of one or more proposed trajectories of the TC, and send data representative of each TC-proposed trajectory to an air navigation service provider ('ANSP') and/or a dispatch center (&#x201c;DC&#x201d;). When presented to a controller of the ANSP or a dispatcher of the DC, one or more of the trajectories may be sent to the aircraft system. In response, each ANSP-selected trajectory and each DC-selected trajectory may be presented to the pilot whom selects and approves one of the selected trajectories. In response, the pilot-selected trajectory may be sent to the ANSP and DC.

Communication methods employed by participants in a trajectory management operations

Systems and methods for incorporating virtual network computing ('VNC') into a cockpit display system ('CDS') and controlling an aircraft system and a remote system simultaneously with a VNC-incorporated CDS are disclosed. A system for incorporating VNC into the CDS is comprised of a VNC server of a remote system, at least one first user application (&#x201c;UA&#x201d;), a second UA, a pilot input device, and a CDS comprised of, in part, a processing module (&#x201c;PM&#x201d;) configured with a method employing an aviation-industry standard protocol (e.g., ARINC 661) and a VNC protocol. A system for controlling the remote system aircraft system with a VNC-incorporated CDS is comprised with a VNC server of the aircraft system and/or the non-aircraft system, a UA, a pilot input device, a display surface format, and a CDS comprised of, in part, a PM configured with a method employing an aviation-industry standard protocol and a VNC protocol.

Incorporating virtual network computing into a cockpit display system for controlling a non-aircraft system

A present novel and non-trivial system, device, and method for presenting instrument approach procedure ('IAP') advisory information to a pilot of an aircraft are disclosed. An advisory generator ('AG') is programmed to retrieve or receive flight information representative of the current position of the aircraft, a designated airport, and at least one published IAP; weather minima data corresponding to each IAP; and one or more IAP suitability factors from a weather data source, a NOTAM data source, and/or an aircraft performance data source. The AG determines the suitability or availability of each published IAP, disables the pilot's selectability of each unsuitable or unavailable published IAP, and generates advisory data representative of information advising the pilot of the unsuitable or unavailable published IAP(s). Additionally, the AG is programmed to receive a pilot's override of an unsuitable or unavailable published IAP and enable the overridden unsuitable or unavailable IAP.

System, device, and method for presenting instrument approach procedure advisory information to a pilot on an aircraft

A method of managing an aircraft in flight may include electronically monitoring for a presence of a threat object along a flight path of the aircraft and at a destination airport of the aircraft, and electronically generating an alert when the presence of the threat object is detected. The alert may include information enabling air traffic control (ATC), flight dispatch, and a pilot of the aircraft to make a collaborative flight path correction decision that may prevent the aircraft from being affected by the threat object.

Automated datalink alert and alternate advisory system

The present disclosure is directed to a Synthetic Vision System (SVS) view combined with information from navigation charts. The operator of a vehicle is not required to mentally combine separate SVS view and navigation charts, increasing situational awareness and decreasing complexity. A synthetic terrain representation is generated, combined with navigation chart information, and displayed. Additionally, the combination may include an indicator indicating the intended path of the current planned course. The combination may be generated with less detailed navigation chart information when further away or more detailed navigation chart information when close, displaying more detail as landmarks are approached. The combination may include indicators representing one or more navigation aids based on information in the navigation charts. The combination may include text based on navigation chart information.

Combining navigation chart information with synthetic vision terrain representation on a synthetic vision system display

A radio frequency identification (RFID) system for allowing access to at least one remotely positioned target RFID tag. The RFID system includes an RFID repeater receiver located outside of the operable range of a target RFID tag; and, at least one RFID repeater positionable within an operable range of the target RFID tag. The RFID repeater retransmits an original inquiry from the RFID repeater receiver to the target RFID tag and retransmits a response from the target RFID tag to the RFID repeater receiver.
