A toy puzzle includes a base member with first and second rows of circular containers. One more container is in the first row than is in the second row. A plurality of playing pieces are to be positioned in the top row of containers in a predetermined pattern to define an object in each of the containers with one eye and an open mouth. The pieces may be repositioned in the second row of containers to form a closed mouth, one eyed object in each of the containers with no leftover pieces.

Toy puzzle

A counting device with ball actuated, aligned, rotatable indicating elements is disclosed that is particularly useful as a clock. The device includes a plurality of indicating elements rotatable around parallel axes, arranged side by side in three columns. Each indicating element includes a display portion and a ball actuated flange, mounted on a common axle with the flanges of adjacent elements in each column forming a ball conveying track. The elements are successively rotated to the upward display position by a ball whose continued presence atop an element's flange causes an appropriate rotation of that element. The balls are continuously recycled by a synchronous motor elevator which collects the balls at their lowest position and returns them to their highest position in communication with the ball conveying tracks. After all of the indicating elements in a column have been raised to their display position, the ball resets the first rotated element causing it to reset the adjacent elements. In this way the elements are returned to their downward position by a domino effect.

A pattern location board game device is described in which each player attempts to locate a pattern of playing positions selected by an opponent. The device includes a game board having a plurality of playing positions bearing indicia representative of each one of a plurality of articles of clothing and each one of a plurality of colors. A plurality of identical playing positions are dispersed on the game board. Each player has a playing position selection box that displays the various articles of clothing represented on the game board while concealing a set of colored pegs received in apertures in the box associated with each represented article of clothing. The colored pegs are selectively positioned in the apertures associated with the articles of clothing to indicate the selected pattern of playing positions on the game board. A plurality of clear, transparent discs are used to mark certain playing positions on the game board which one player believes represent the selected positions of another player.

A structure including a base member having two fencing figures mounted thereon for movement relative to the base and each other so that the conductive sword carried by each figure may be engaged one with the other and the figures manipulated so that the conductive sword of one figure may touch the conductive target area of the other figure, and vice versa. When the conductive swords of the robot figures touch a unique audible signal is produced which is in the motif of the popular concept of outer space sounds and simulates the swishing or swooshing character of a sword blade moving through the air. When the swords are separated this audible signal dies out slowly so as to give an echo or ethereal effect thereto. if the conductive sword tip of one figure is maneuvered to engage the conductive target area of the other figure a unique sound signal is generated and a corresponding portion of the figure is illuminated by a flashing light. These signals are continued until the fencing figures are removed to remote locations at which point the signals are terminated. After a hit has been made by one figure, facilities are provided for preventing the development of sword touch sounds after the hit and prior to the separation of the figures to their remote locations. Also, after a hit has been made by one figure, facilities are provided for preventing the other figure from thereafter producing a hit upon his opponent.

Electronic fencing game

A mechanical action toy for young children and the like includes a housing or enclosure having a plurality of separate compartments in communication with each other and one of the compartments is provided with an exterior wall of light transmitting material comprising a window to permit viewing of the interior. A dump truck having a movable hopper is mounted in the window compartment and is adapted to contain a plurality of playing pieces such as marbles or the like which are collected in the hopper and subsequently may be dumped therefrom. A manually activated elevator system is provided in the other compartment for collecting dumped out marbles and elevating the same for discharge back into the hopper of the dump truck after the hopper is returned to a collecting or marble holding position. In addition, the toy apparatus includes a pair of wheels which are driven to rotate and to move up and down to resemble traveling over a rough and bumpy road. An animated figure in the form of a truck driver is mounted in the cab of the dump truck and is selectively movable. A push button whistle is provided to make a sound that resembles the toot of a horn and another sound generator is incorporated with the system for drivingly rotating and moving the truck wheels up and down.

Mechanical action toy

A toy motor vehicle includes a body supported by wheels for rolling movement over a supporting surface. The body is provided with a first compartment having a transparent wall segment and a second compartment in communication therewith having opaque walls. A plurality of balls representing gallons of fuel are adapted to be contained in the respective compartments and means is provided for moving the balls from the first compartment into the second compartment as the toy vehicle is moved around, thus simulating the using up and eventually running out of gas when all the balls are moved out of view into the second, opaque-walled compartment. A gas pump element is detachably connectable with the vehicle and includes a rotating flexible shaft which is adapted to drive a mechanism in the vehicle for returning the fuel elements or balls from the opaque compartment back into the first compartment to simulate refueling of the vehicle at a gas pump. Each time a ball is returned into the first compartment a bell is rung to simulate the action of a gas pump.

Toy motor vehicle

A skill type game having a playing area and two goal areas at opposite ends of the playing area includes a sound actuated flipper at each goal area for selectively blocking and propelling a playing object. The game players control the operation of each of the flippers by shouting or emitting other sounds in an attempt to project the playing object into the other players goal area and prevent the playing object from entering his own goal area. The sound actuated flipper arrangement includes control circuitry to provide an automatic lock-out feature to prevent sustained sounds from continually and/or continuously activating the flippers. The control circuitry of the sound actuated flipper arrangement provides a first predetermined time interval during which the flipper is operated and a second predetermined time interval within which operation of the flippers is inhibited. The playing area is defined by two relatively open areas each inclined upwardly from one of the goal areas to a center line. Each of the goal areas defines a first central opening for entrance of the playing object; the associated flipper defending the first goal opening when activated to prevent the entrance of the playing object into the associated goal area. Each of the goal areas also includes a second opening adjacent the first goal opening and a narrowed approach lane defined on the playing area. Accurate operation of the flippers propels a playing object directly into the second goal opening of the opposing goal area independent of the operation of the associated flipper.

Sound actuated competitive game apparatus

A game apparatus includes a generally vertically oriented rotatable shaft mounted on a base and a playing object pivotally connected to the top of the shaft for operator controlled movement. A drive mechanism is mounted within the base and includes first and second plates mounted for reciprocal translatory movement. The second plate includes a longitudinal slot surrounding a drive gear or ratchet secured to the shaft. The slot includes opposing ratchet teeth pitched in opposite directions for alternate engagement with the drive gear. The second plate is connected to the first plate for relative movement such that one set of ratchet teeth engages the gear upon reciprocal movement of the first plate in a first direction and the other set of ratchet teeth engages the gear upon movement of the first plate in a second direction to rotate the drive gear in a single selected direction. The playing object includes a tiltable arm secured to the top of the shaft and a toy airplane on one end of the arm and a centrifugally operated weight on the other end that varies the elevation of the toy airplane relative to the base in proportion to the speed of rotation of the shaft.

Player actuated flying toy

A game apparatus based on a sea monster theme includes a rotatably mounted platform defining a plurality of positions for the placement of playing pieces by the players of the game. A retrieving mechanism is randomly actuated by rotation of the platform causing a movable element, simulating a sea monster, to retrieve one of the playing pieces from an indexed position on the rotatable platform. The movable element is pivotally mounted and biased for movement toward the playing piece upon release by a trip mechanism mounted below the platform. A governor regulates movement of the movable element and a biased catch mechanism on the end of the element grasps the playing pieces from the playing surface.

Game apparatus

A pool-type game apparatus which includes a base structure having a playing surface over which play balls or the like may be propelled. Bumper rails substantially surround the playing surface and at least one ball receiving pocket is disposed at a playing position on the playing surface. A cue ball and a cue ball propelling device is provided for rolling the cue ball over the playing surface away from the ball propelling device into contact with other play balls or the rails. Position indicating indicia is provided on the playing surface for selective positioning of the play balls. A set of play cards are provided having indicating indicia thereon correlated to the position indicating indicia for dictating a particular shot of the cue ball from the propelling device in an attempt to strike other balls, rails, or the like, in order to propel a play ball into said pocket in accordance with the dictations of a particular play card.

A kit or device which can be used by children to create artistic forms from sheets of paper. The kit includes a cutting portion which can be manually operated to cut strips from a sheet of paper and also a portion for creating corrugations and/or curls in paper, such as the cut strips. The cutting portion generally includes a plurality of cutting wheels mounted on separate horizontal parallel shafts for rotation therewith such that the side edges of the cutting wheels on the separate shafts are in cutting proximity with regard to each other. The cutting wheels are contained within an upstanding frame portion secured to a base. The spaced shafts are geared to each other so that manual rotation of one shaft is sufficient to rotate all cutting wheels. The frame portion has a side opening or slot at the cutting level so that a sheet of paper of any width can be accommodated during the cutting operation. A horizontally slidable or adjustable upstanding guide plate is provided to adjust the width of at least one strip of paper cut from the sheet or to eliminate the cutting of at least one strip.

Paper craft kit

A board-type game apparatus designed around the theme of a mythical man-animal known as 'Big Foot' includes, in combination, a game board having a relatively large playing surface with a plurality of spaced apart playing piece stations or spaces thereon positioned at intervals along a travel path. One of the play spaces is designated as 'Big Foot Home'. A plurality of relatively small playing pieces are adapted for movement over the playing surface between the spaces along the travel path. One of the playing pieces is formed to resemble the mythical character 'Big Foot' and includes a hollow base for containing a plurality of disks adapted to be removably contained in vertically stacked relation therein. Some of the disks have distinguishing indicia on one face, such as a foot print of 'Big Foot' and some are plain. The disks are loaded in the hollow base in random order. The 'Big Foot' playing piece includes a disk holding member which is releasable upon manual placement of the playing piece into pressure contact against the playing surface of the board to deposit the lower disk in the stack on a playing space when the pressure contact is terminated. A chance device such as a die is used for determining the number of spaces that the playing pieces are moved around the travel path and some playing spaces labeled 'card' require the player to draw from a deck of cards provided for the game.

Chase-type board game apparatus

An amusement game device includes a rotatable playing surface which is provided with a number of target points and corresponding numerical indicia. A target aiming tower is provided for each game player through which playing objects are dropped by each game player. A set of playing cards bearing numerical indicia correspond to and identify the various target points on the rotatable playing surface. The target points are formed by openings in the surface of the rotatable playing surface which are aligned with respective underlying biased target arm members. When a target arm member is contacted by a playing object, a symbol indicating a hit or score is aligned with a respective opening so as to be visible to the game players.

Rotatable target game device

An apparatus for creating designs on a substrate such as a sheet of paper includes a frame with a platen mounted on the top thereof. The platen is loosely mounted for vibratory movement relative to the frame. A drive cam, through a link system, is connected to the platen to slowly move the platen in one direction and then rapidly move the platen in a directly opposite direction. A writing implement, such as a pen or pencil, is mounted in a generally vertical position on the substrate on top of the platen, to move with the platen as it is driven slowly in a first direction and then to move relative to the platen as it rapidly returns. The link means is selectively manually rotatable to permit changing the orientation of the vibratory movement of the platen and substrate.
