Dialyzer systems can consolidate multiple technologies and functionalities of blood treatment systems in a significantly integrated fashion. For example, this disclosure describes dialyzer systems that include a magnetically driven and magnetically levitating pump rotor integrated into the dialyzer. Such a dialyzer can be used with treatment modules that include a magnetic field-generating pump drive unit. In some embodiments, the dialyzers include pressure sensor chambers with flexible membranes with which corresponding pressure transducers of the treatment modules can interface to detect arterial and/or venous pressures.

Tube connection

A device and a method facilitate connecting a vial to a container or to a fluid, line, and transferring the contents of the vial to the container or to the fluid line. The device has a connecting device, a first holder for accommodating the connecting device, a second holder for accommodating the vial, and an actuating means. The connecting device includes an annular housing, an inside part having at least one puncture device, and a tube connection. The annular housing is configured to be rotatable about the inside part so as to function as a valve, so that by rotation of the annular housing, flow paths of the connecting device can be opened and closed.

A tubing set suitable for use in co-operation with a hemodialysis machine includes an out-tube for supplying the blood from the patient to a filter of the machine, an in-tube for supplying the blood from the filter back to the patient, a drip chamber placed along one of the tubes, adapted to let the blood drip through an air buffer, and a vial gate for the connection of vials containing drugs to be delivered into the blood. The vial gate includes a delivery lumen, suitable for delivering the drug from the vial to the drip chamber, and a vent lumen, suitable for providing air inside the vial in order to replace the delivered drug.

An assembly of a dual lumen tubing and a dual bore connector has a first flow conduit along a first lumen and a first bore, and has a second flow conduit from a second bore, via a circumferential groove and along a second lumen. The assembly can be used in connection with an extracorporeal circuit of a haemodialysis machine or an infusion set.

For the administering of medicaments, an adapter is provided for connection to a haemodialysis tube set, which makes possible the direct connection of a standard injection vial to the extracorporeal circuit, avoiding the introduction of air into the circuit. The adapter has two conduit pathways. The conduit pathway for the application of medicament contains a gas-blocking element. The second conduit pathway serves for the aeration of the injection vial.

A tubing set suitable for use in co-operation with a medical liquid delivery device includes a delivery tube configured to supply a medical liquid or blood to a patient, and a vial gate for the connection of vials containing drugs to be delivered into the medical liquid or blood. The vial gate includes a delivery lumen configured to deliver the drug from the vial to the delivery tube, and a vent lumen configured to deliver a replacement fluid from a location inside the tubing set to the inside of the vial in order to replace the delivered drug. The vial gate also includes at least one one-way valve placed along the vent lumen or the delivery lumen.

The invention relates to an insert and a vial for the infusion of a liquid. The vial comprises a hollow body, a grasp portion and a head. The head comprises a delivery opening defining an axis X; a septum for closing the opening; and at least one circumferential push surface next to the head and firmly connected to the grasp portion. The insert is suitable to deliver the liquid and to receive the vial along axis X. The insert comprises a main body with lower ducts, an inner part and a piercing spike. The inner part defines a seat for the vial head, and comprises one slit for engaging the circumferential push surface. The spike is suitable to pierce the vial septum and defines upper ducts. The inner part is able to rotate inside the main body between a fluidly open configuration and a fluidly closed configuration.

Insert and vial for the infusion of liquids

An insert for an infusion of drugs is configured for connection to a vial and preferably to a circuit or an infusion line. The insert includes a main body, a resilient element, and a piercing spike. The piercing spike has an axis X and defines a first channel and a second channel, and is movable relative to the main body along the axis X between a first closed position A and a second open position B. The resilient element presses against the piercing spike so as to keep the piercing spike in the first closed position A when no external forces are applied.

Insert for the infusion of drugs

A device for collecting dialysate samples has an inlet for receiving a flow of dialysate, a plurality of outlets for providing a flow of saturated dialysate, and means for sequential selection of one of the outlets. The sequential selection means are actuated only by the flow of dialysate received from the inlet. A system for peritoneal dialysis includes the device for collecting dialysate samples.

The invention relates to a device for loading a patient connector for peritoneal dialysis with a closure plug. To permit an arbitrary number of disconnection/connection procedures with patient connectors that insert a sterile closure plug into the patient's abdominal connector during disconnection, a device for loading a patient connector for peritoneal dialysis with a closure plug is suggested, said device consisting of a housing containing a closure plug and of means for transferring the closure plug out of the device and into a patient connector. This permits loading, under sterile conditions, of a patient connector whose closure plug has already been used with a new closure plug. By loading a new closure plug, the push-button with which the closure plug is inserted is returned to its starting position, so that the patient connector is again available for a connection/disconnection procedure.
