A method of adjusting the angular rolling position of the plane of a motor vehicle wheel, in which the wheel is mounted on a vehicle so that the plane of the wheel can present a static angular position and a safety angular position, the method providing for the plane of the wheel to be maintained in the static angular position when the wheel is rolling and, in case of detection of at least one critical rolling parameter, for the wheel plane to be shifted to a safety angular position for a predetermined time period before the plane of the wheel is returned to the static angular position. A wheel mounting of a motor vehicle in which the method can be implemented is provided.

A suspension device () for suspending a wheel () with respect to the body () of a vehicle. The device allows a substantially vertical suspension movement and allows the wheel carrier () to move in terms of camber with respect to the body of the vehicle. The device comprises a slide () and a lower arm. The slide comprises an upper part () and a lower part () which can move one with respect to the other, the upper part being connected to the body and the lower part being connected to the wheel carrier. The device further comprises a rocker () articulated in the camber plane, on the one hand, to the lower arm and, on the other hand, via a link () to the wheel carrier, the rocker further being articulated in the camber plane to the lower part of the slide.

Vehicle suspension device

A support system () designed to connect a wheel () to suspension elements () of an automobile, the support system including a cambering device that confers upon the wheel carrier () a degree of camber freedom relative to the suspension elements, the cambering device including a triple hinge (), the triple hinge including three essentially longitudinal axes, the triple hinge including two flanges () and two levers (), each of the levers being respectively attached to one of the two flanges. The levers are connected on the one hand to the wheel carrier () and on the other hand to the suspension elements. The camber movement of the wheel carrier takes place around an instantaneous centre of rotation (CIR r/s), a lateral distance 'dl' separating the transverse position of the instantaneous centre of rotation (CIR r/s) from the transverse position of the wheel base (BR). The system is also configured such that the distance (dl) remains smaller than 40 mm during a camber deflection (&#x3b1;) of 0&#xb0; to &#x2212;3&#xb0;.

A vehicle wheel comprises a rim and a disk, the disk presenting a generally flat center zone of attachment of the disk to the vehicle, a zone of connection of the disk and the rim and an intermediate zone. The intermediate zone of the disk includes a given angular sector, or two diametrically opposite angular sectors, stiffened against axial bending relative to any other angular sector of the same central angle.

Sound absorbing wheel

A wheel for motor vehicles in which a rim (2) of composite material and a tal disk (3) are assembled to each other by an assembly edge (6) formed by the free peripheral end of the disk (3) and the assembly edge (6) is embedded in the rim (2) in such a manner that both faces of the edge are covered by the rim. A method of manufacturing such a wheel which includes the steps of producing the metal disk (3), then positioning the free peripheral end (6) of the disk (3) in a mold, and molding the rim (2) on the end, the rim covering the two faces of the end (6).
