A tire with radial carcass reinforcement comprises a crown reinforcement including a layer of circumferential reinforcing elements distributed axially at a variable pitch. The layer of circumferential reinforcing elements is radially crowned by a tread strip, which is connected to two beads by two sidewalls. The layer of circumferential reinforcing elements comprises five parts, including a central part, two intermediate parts and two axially outer parts. The value of the pitch in the two intermediate parts is less than a value of the pitch in the two axially outer parts. Each axially outer part is axially separated from the central part by a corresponding intermediate part. The value of the pitch in each intermediate part is less than a value of the pitch in the central part, and the value of the pitch in each axially outer part is less than the value of the pitch in the central part.

A tire comprising a reinforcing structure of the carcass type and comprising under the tread strip a crown reinforcing structure consisting of at least two layers of reinforcing elements. The carcass-type reinforcing structure is produced in the form of two half-layers extending at least from the shoulders to the beads and each having an end under the tread strip, the crown reinforcing structure comprises at least one layer of circumferential reinforcing elements which are distributed in the transverse direction with a variable pitch and the pitch between the circumferential reinforcing elements is at a minimum in the region of the layer of circumferential reinforcing elements that radially face the ends of each of the half-layers of the carcass-type reinforcing structure.

At least the surface of the tread strip comprises a first polymer compound extending at least into the region of the equatorial plane and at least one second polymer compound having physicochemical properties that differ from those of the first polymer compound, the crown reinforcing structure comprising at least one layer of circumferential reinforcing elements which are distributed in the transverse direction with a variable pitch and the pitch between the circumferential reinforcing elements being at a minimum in the region of the layer of circumferential reinforcing elements that radially face the ends of the first compound.

A motorcycle tire includes at least one carcass-type reinforcement structure formed of reinforcement elements, anchored on either side of the tire to a bead whose base is intended to be mounted on a rim seat, each bead being extended radially towards the outside by a sidewall. The sidewalls meet up radially towards the outside with a tread. Under the tread there is a crown reinforcement structure including at least one layer of reinforcement elements known as a working layer which has at least one continuous reinforcement cord forming portions in the central zone thereof. Those central cord portions display identical angles of between 10-80 degrees formed with the longitudinal direction, the angles being measured at points of intersection of the cord with a circumferential plane. Two adjacent cord portions are linked by a U-shaped loop.
