The invention relates to enantiomer (&#x2212;) of tentoprazole. The inventive enantiomer (&#x2212;) of tenatoprazole, or (&#x2212;)-5-methoxy-2-[[(4-methoxy-3,5-dimethyl-2-pyridyl)methyl]sulfinyl]imidazol[4,5-b]pyridine exhibits improved pharmacokinetic properties which make it possible to use a once a day posology of a drug for relevant indications. The enantiomer (&#x2212;) of tentoprazole can be used for treating digestive pathologies.
