A locking device for a carton includes a first part (F) defined in a first panel () and a second part (M) defined in a second panel (). The first part includes a female tab () struck from the first panel and foldably coupled thereto. The second part includes a male tab () struck from the second panel and foldably coupled thereto. The male tab is hinged to the second panel by a first non-linear fold line () and is receivable in an aperture created by folding the female tab out of the plane of the first panel so as to secure the first and second panels together. The male tab includes at least one weakened line () for facilitating folding of the male tab about the first non-linear fold line (). An edge () of the female tab braces against the male tab so as to maintain the male tab in a folded or locked configuration.

Panel interlocking device for a carton and blank therefor

A locking device for a carton comprising a first part and a second part complementary to the first part, the first part comprising a first panel () having an aperture for receiving the second part, the second part comprising a tab () coupled to a second panel, the tab having a fold line () foldable to form a leading edge, the tab being inserted into the aperture in a folded condition, the tab comprising at least one engaging edge () for engaging with the first panel.

Fastening mechanism for a carton

A two-part () transporting and vending package () for containing and displaying articles (A). The articles are grouped and disposed upon the first part (), which is augment by the second part () to give the package sufficient structural integrity to resist compressive forces being transmitted to the articles when the package is stacked with other such packages. The second part also restricts access to the articles. The package also comprises a releasable retaining means () provided to maintain the first and second parts as a unit until access to the articles is required. The retaining means can be manipulated to deprive the package of its initial structural integrity and to provide improved access to the articles to facilitate vending.

Transporting and vending package

A carton and a blank for forming a carton for holding a plurality of articles, for example bottles, comprising a collapsible tubular corner post formed from an extension of a carton side wall. The corner post is adapted to move from a flat collapsed condition when extending outwardly of the carton to be automatically erected by folding the corner post inwardly.

Carton and carton blank therefor

A carton and blank for forming a carton for accommodating one or more articles which carton is provided with an access structure for the removal of articles from within the carton. The access structure comprises a closure panel hinged to a carton wall for forward and backward pivotal movement and a movable platform hinged to the closure panel for moving the contents of the carton forward for their removal in response to the forward pivotal movement of the closure panel.

Carton and carton blank

An article carrier and a blank for forming an article carrier for holding a plurality of articles, for example bottles. The carrier comprises a plurality of wall panels for forming a tubular structure. The wall panels include a pair of side wall panels, one of which is provided with a reinforcing tab hingedly connected thereto along an article-retaining edge of a first aperture for receiving an article. The reinforcing tab is folded to underlie the one side wall panel to provide a two-ply structure adjacent the article-retaining edge.

Article carrier and blank therefor

An article carrier and blank for forming the article carrier are provided to package a plurality of necked articles. The carrier or blank comprises a top, bottom and opposed side panels interconnected together. The top panel comprises article receiving and retaining arrangement including an article retaining flap formed from the top panel. The article retaining flap is adapted to be folded inwardly of the top panel thereby to define an aperture for receiving a neck portion of the article. When the article neck portion is received in the aperture, the article retaining flap abuts the neck portion to engage and retain the article.

Carton

A carton for packaging primary containers arranged in at least three lateral rows in which the center of said rows has fewer containers than adjacent rows. The carton comprises a pair of superposed tray structures (70) which are connected together by a wrapper (10) having a handle structure (52). The trays each have a retaining keel (94) extending inwardly of the tray for retaining the center row of containers in an inwardly offset condition with respect to the adjacent rows of containers.

Multiple compartment separable container

A carton for accommodating a plurality of articles, such as bottles, in a group, comprises a first wall panel, a pair of substantially opposing second wall panels interconnected with the first panel, and a handle structure overlying the first wall panel. The handle structure is manipulative from a flat stowed position in which it closely overlies the first wall panel, to a raised position in which the end portions of the handle structure are displaced inwardly of the carton and that portion of the handle structure intermediate its ends is spaced apart from the first wall panel. The handle structure is formed from a pair of mutually hinged and superposed panel strips formed integrally with each other. Each panel strip of the handle structure is hinged to and formed integrally with the second wall panels.

Multi-unit carton with integral handle

A package which accommodates a plurality of parallelepiped cartons includes a sleeve having a top wall panel and a bottom wall panel interconnected by spaced side wall panels thereby forming a tubular structure in which the parallelepiped cartons are accommodated. The tubular structure includes end wall panels which at least partially close the ends of the tubular structure. Corners of the sleeve each formed in part by a side wall panel and an adjacent end wall panel extend substantially the full height of the packaged cartons adjacent to such corners are each formed with a recess. The recesses of one sleeve are sized and positioned to receive said upper and lower corner portions of a like adjacent sleeve so that the adjacent sleeves can be nested when in flat form.

Multi-unit package particularly for parallelepiped cartons

A carrying handle (H) in a multi-unit carton for accommodating a number of primary containers comprising interconnected top (14), bottom (18) and side walls (12, 16). The carrying handle comprising an ovate slot (46) in the carton top wall (14), and a slit (48, 48a; 50, 50a) or other line of weakness extending from opposed ends of the slot and extending into respective ones of the two carton side walls. A handle panel (Ha, Hb) provided by part of the top wall is hinged along a fold line (64, 66) extending across the top wall the handle panel having a free edge defined in part by the slot and in part by the slits. Thus, either handle panel can be grasped and hinged upwardly away from the tops of the packaged containers so that the carton can more easily be held.
