The present disclosure generally relates to a mobile negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device comprising a negative pressure pump, where the NPWT device is adapted to generate an alarm signal in case of an abnormal operation of the NPWT device. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method for operating such an NPWT device and a thereto related computer program product.

Mobile negative pressure wound therapy device

The present disclosure generally relates to a mobile negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device comprising a negative pressure pump, where the NPWT device is adapted to ensure that an operation of the negative pressure pump is terminated if the NPWT device is operating outside of a predefined operational range. The present disclosure also relates to a corresponding method for operating such an NPWT device and a thereto related computer program product.

A mobile negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) device is described having an inlet to be in fluid flow connection with a wound site; a canister in fluid flow connection with the inlet for collection of liquid from the wound site; a pump in fluid flow connection with the canister for establishing a negative pressure in the canister; a pressure sensor arranged to sense a pressure in the canister; and control circuitry for controlling operation of the NPWT device. The control circuitry is configured to: initiate a test sequence for the NPWT device; acquire a first signal indicating the pressure in the canister; evaluate the first signal; when the acquired first signal indicates a pressure less negative than a predefined threshold pressure: control the pump to operate during a predefined time period; acquire a second signal after the predefined time period; proceed with the start-up test sequence; and when the acquired signal indicates a pressure more negative than the predefined threshold pressure: proceed with the start-up test sequence without controlling the pump to operate during the predefined time period.

Mobile negative pressure wound therapy device configured for start-up test

The present disclosure relates to a connector device for a negative pressure wound therapy system having a connector housing, a fluid outlet connected to the connector housing, an air feeding port and an air filter and coupling means. The fluid outlet is adapted to be connected to a negative pressure source. The connector device is adapted to be engaged with a wound side connector of a wound side assembly by means of the coupling means. The wound side assembly includes a fluid removing conduit and an air supplying conduit, wherein a portion of each one of the fluid removing conduit and the air supplying conduit is connected to the wound side connector. The connector device when engaged with the wound side connector, the fluid removing conduit is fluidly connected to the fluid outlet and the air supplying conduit is fluidly connected to the air feeding port such that air ambient of the connector device can be fed to the air supplying conduit via the air feeding port and the air filter.
