A mechanism is provided for adjusting the effective length of the cable in a ski binding having a sole plate releasably secured to a ski by means of at least one tensioned cable. The adjustment mechanism comprises a rotatable support mounted on the ski to which an end of the cable is secured. The rotatable support includes a ratchet and pawl arrangement whereby the position of the end of the cable may be manually regulated.

Self restoring safety ski binding

A safety ski binding comprises a stirrup mounted to a ski or a sole-plate. Articulated to the stirrup is a toggle mechanism including a spring biased holding member arranged to engage the edge of the sole of a ski boot. The holding member is displaceable in a direction toward the toggle to release the boot upon application of a predetermined minimum separating stress.

Safety ski binding

A support plate of a ski binding has a rigid boot sole hold-down loop slidably mounted on lateral guide profiles at an end of the support. The rigid loop has a central part which fits over the sole and bent, integral end parts terminating with complementary profiles fitting on the guide profiles of the support. Positioning notches on the support cooperate with notches of an element slidably mounted on the arms of the loop which can be clamped on the support to lock the loop in position. Alternatively, the notches are formed in the complementary guide profiles, and are clamped by a similar element slidably mounted on the loop arms.
