A composite strip which extends in a main direction between first and second ends and which comprises a main strip comprising first fibres embedded in a matrix. The first fibres are made of carbon, an electrically conducting material, and the matrix is made up of at least one polymer. The composite strip further comprises a junction layer formed of an electrically conducting junction material. The junction layer is placed on the main strip.

Composite strip, and methods for forming a junction between two conduits

An electrical heating device comprising a support and a heating layer made of carbon fibre composite on the support mid connected to an electrical power supply to warm the device. The heating layer has a volume which comprises an electrically conducting circuit part which extends along at least one continuous line, and an electrically non-conducting insulation part which fills the remainder of the volume of the heating layer.

Electric heating device

A method for forming an electrical connection in a pipe for transporting a fluid. The pipe comprises an internal hollow tube and a heating layer comprising first fibers made of carbon. There are performed a groove-formation step in which a groove is formed in the heating layer, an interface-preparation step in which a junction layer is placed on the heating layer of the groove, and a placement step in which a connection strip comprising second fibers formed of a second electrically conducting material is wound on the junction layer.

Method for forming an electrical connection

A device is provided for connecting a guide line of an undersea installation. Inside the body of the connector is fixed an axial rod supporting a locking jacket with fingers carried by resilient blades. The rod ends in a centering nose having a cut out, whereas, above the centering nose a sliding ring is mounted on the rod and is held in position by a shearable pin. The guide post has a bore whose divergent section forms with a divergent face a housing for the locking fingers. When, for unlocking the connection, a tractive force is exerted on the connector body, the pin is sheared and the ring, by sliding, opens the passage for the fingers, which allows the connector to be released and raised. This connector requires no angular position with respect to the guide rod and makes any disconnecting tool superfluous.

Connection device for a guide line of an undersea installation

The device comprises a head 1 containing a cavity 2 and a sleeve 4, and a hollow body 3, inside which is lockingly housed a hollow mandril 6 fixed to a load to be carried and comprising a valving piston 17. Inside sleeve 4 is housed a mobile piston 31 whose head 32 slides in cavity 2. Pipes 27, 28, 29 pass through the cavity 2, whereas, opposite these pipes, housings 320 are formed in the piston 31 for allowing the piston to slide along the pipes. These housings are extended by ducts 33, 34, 35 opening laterally into the face of the piston 31 through orifices 36, 37. Inside mandril 6 are provided longitudinal high pressure fluid ducts 39, 40 for connection to the user circuits. The lateral face of the valving piston 17 comprises annular seals 44, 45, 46 intended to close off, in the raised position of piston 31, the annular zones corresponding to the orifices through which ducts 39, 40 open out and which communicate in the low position of 31 with the orifices 36, 37. The device provides sealing connection of hydraulic circuits and protection of the parts of loads carried against corrosion of the environment.
