A roller for a high temperature annealing line includes a cylindrical shell and an axial support element and including a spindle at at least one of its ends, and first and second keys fastened to the axial support element and each arranged in a respective first or second through opening formed in the shell. The first key is mounted to bear against a first circumferential bearing surface of the first through opening while the second key is mounted against a second circumferential bearing surface of the second through opening opposite to the first circumferential bearing surface of the first through opening in a circumferential travel direction. The first key is mounted to bear against the second longitudinal bearing surface of the first through opening, while the second key is mounted against the first longitudinal bearing surface of the second through opening opposite to the second longitudinal bearing surface.

Composite material roller for high-temperature annealing

A thermal shielding element which includes a hollow rigid panel in the form of a shell made of a thermostructural composite including fiber reinforcement densified by a matrix, and a thermal insulant filling the panel is obtained by making a rigid block (20) of thermally insulating material of low density, the block having an outside surface whose shape corresponds to the shape of an inside surface of the panel, a fiber preform (11) constituting the reinforcement of the composite material is formed on the block of insulating material, and the fiber preform is densified with the material that constitutes the matrix of the composite material.

Method of manufacturing thermal shielding elements for space planes

The thermal protection device is made up of a plurality of juxtaposed unit modules each comprising a fairing element provided with fixing tabs and thermal insulation integrated in the fairing element. The gap between neighboring fairing elements is limited to the minimum width necessary for accommodating thermal expansion thereof. The connection means which releasably connect the fixing tab to a primary structure to be protected comprise a ball fixed to the fixing tab in adjustable manner and capable of being locked in a corresponding socket of a retaining part fixed to the primary structure. The ball is locked in its socket by means of a bolt capable of being released by action exerted against a resilient return force.

Thermal protection device, in particular for an aerospace vehicle

The wheel comprises a central portion, or rim provided with blades at its peripheral portion and is made of a single piece of composite material formed by a fibrous reinforcement densified by a matrix. The fibrous reinforcement is formed from a helical fabric with radially oriented fibers and circumferentially oriented fibers. The density of fibers in a radial direction and the density of fibers in a circumferential direction varies along a radius of the wheel as a function of the variations of the radial stresses and circumferential stresses that are exerted on the wheel when it is in operation. At least part of the circumferentially oriented fibers in the rim are made of a material having high mechanical resistance, while at least part of circumferentially oriented fibers in the blades and at least part of the axially oriented fibers are made of a material having good resistance to high temperatures and chemical attacks.

A friction system comprising at least two frictionally coupled elements produced of refractory composite materials, wherein one of the friction elements is a carbon-carbon composite material whereas the second friction element is a composite material constituted of a fibrous reinforcement in which the fibers are selected from carbon fibers and silicon carbide fibers, and of a two-phased matrix of which the principal phase is constituted by silicon carbide.

The disc consists of a core (1), being a hub (3) surrounded by spokes (2), and friction pads in the form of annular sectors (8) having recesses (15, 16) in their inside backs (10) to cooperate with the spokes (2) in providing radial guidance and angular locking. Elastic means are provided for removably axially mounting the sectors on the core (1), which elastic means (19, 6) also serve to removably radially mount the sectors on the core.
