An invalid dog lift and support device employs a lever mounted on spread wheels supported by retractable legs with a tanslatable harness mount received on the lever. A telescoping handle is received in an end of the lever distal from the legs. The harness mount is rotatable to position a dog, supported in harnesses suspended form the harness mount, parallel to or transvers to the lever. The harness mount is translatable on the lever from a position proximate the legs to a position distal from the legs.

Wheeled transport and support device

An articulating bed frame incorporates an extruded metal frame shape which is formed into any desired bed size by slicing of kerfs in the extrusion for side lengths with bending at the kerfs around sized base plate elements to create the completed frame. The frame employs an extruded beam having an inner flange and a support channel formed therein. The extruded beam is cut to form frame side elements and end elements and a plurality of support blocks are received in and support by the support channel. The support blocks engage a cradle supporting a seat section of an articulating structure.

Method and structure for lightweight integrally formable bed frames for articulating beds

An articulating bed incorporates a support frame with a head end. Side frame members support and carry a carriage having a seat support. The carriage is mounted with wheels engaging the side frame members to translate from a first position through a range progressing toward the head end to a fully translated position. A first elevating frame rotates about an axle attached to the side frame members with the first elevating frame concealed within a depth profile of the side frame members in an unrotated position. First rollers carried by the carriage engage lower profile surfaces of the elevating frame and a second roller carried by the first elevating frame engages a lower surface of an upper body support pivotally attached to the seat support. Translation of the carriage from the first position to the fully translated position rotates the first elevating frame about the axle to articulate the upper body support.

Compact profile actuation system for an adjustable bed

An articulating bed incorporating a frame having side frame members and a rigid cross frame member extending between the side frame members employs a flexible support member secured to the rigid cross frame member. Support arms engage an upper body portion of the flexible support member with lubricious support and are rotatable through a range of motion from an aligned position with the side frame members to a fully elevated position angularly supporting the upper body portion in a raised position. A leg portion adjustment member engages the flexible support member at a knee position intermediate a thigh portion and a leg portion of the flexible support member. The leg portion adjustment member is rotatable through a range of motion from an aligned position with the side frame members to a fully elevated position placing the knee position at an elevated location with angular positioning of the thigh portion and leg portion.

Articulating bed with flexible mattress support

A mattress retention system for adjustable beds employs a tension web attached to a top surface of an element of an articulating support structure. The tension web is inset from a longitudinal edge and lateral edges of the articulating support structure element and incorporates a first fastener moiety on an extending edge. A mating element is attached to the bottom surface of a mattress adjacent an edge to be restrained. The mating element incorporates a second fastener moiety for operable connection to the first fastener moiety and includes a web section having a first edge attached to the bottom surface of the mattress and a second edge carrying the second fastener moiety for flexibility in attaching the fastener moieties.

Mattress retainer system for an adjustable bed

A bed frame with a support structure has a rigid structural frame for carrying an articulating structure for an adjustable bed. The support structure extends substantially to the extents of the articulating structure in an unarticulated position and has a padded bolster. The bolster incorporates a mounting support attached to the structural frame and a resilient foam bumper received on the mounting support with a fabric covering surrounding the bumper and fastened to the mounting support. The articulating structure includes rigid planar supports having edges with a surrounding resilient foam layer having a fabric covering secured to the planar support. The bumper and foam layer are resilient to deform upon contact with an intruding appendage inserted between them. For an exemplary embodiment, an electrical outlet is mounted in a housing which penetrates the support frame, mounting support and bumper.

Bed frame for an adjustable bed

An articulating bed incorporates a support frame having an upper body support section. A lumbar actuation lever extends from a rotatable torque tube with angle arms extending from the torque tube to a lumbar support element. The lumbar support element is retracted against the upper body support section creating minimal deflection in a lumbar region of a mattress. The torque tube is rotated with to elevate the lumbar support element. A head support bracket is mounted to a neck angle adjustment section. The neck angle adjustment section is aligned with the upper body support section. or rotated about hinge elements to provide an angled head and neck position with respect to the upper body support section.

Articulating bed with lumbar and head adjustment

A mechanism for activation of an articulating bed incorporates at least one mattress support plate and a pair of side rails. A rack is attached to each side rail and a torque tube extends between the side rails with a pinion gear at each end engaging a respective one of the racks. An actuator imparts translational motion to the torque tube perpendicular to its axis. Elevation bars connected to the torque tube and the support plate are angularly displaced by translation of the torque tube.

Articulating bed system

A bed frame comprises a lower support structure having a head end and a foot end and a carriage arranged for translational movement on the lower support structure. An upper support structure is mounted on the carriage. The upper support structure includes a seat and an upper body support section pivotally connected thereto. A support arm is pivotally connected between the lower support structure and the upper body support section. An actuator is connected to the lower support structure. A lever arm is connected between the actuator and the carriage. Application of force from the actuator to the lever arm moves the carriage on the lower support structure while applying a lifting moment to the upper body support section. The support arm is arranged such that movement of the carriage toward the head end of the lower support structure also produces a lifting moment on the upper body support section.

Adjustable bed frame assembly

A mattress for use with an adjustable bed frame having a carriage, a head support section and a thigh support section connected to the carriage and a foot support section connected to the thigh support section includes a foam layer, a rigid planar retainer member fastened to an underside portion of the foam layer, a fabric layer arranged to cover the retainer member and a fastener connected to the retainer member for connecting the retainer member to the carriage. The mattress may include a plurality of channels formed in the foam layer and arranged to allow airflow through the foam layer. A fan may be mounted in the foam layer to force air through the channels. Loudspeaker system components may also be mounted in the channels.

Mattress for adjustable bed

A metallic connector (48) secures the terminal end (50) of a first metallic tubular member (28) to an intermediate portion (52) of a second metallic tubular member (30). The connector (48) includes an end connection portion (54) having an opening (56) that receives the terminal end (50) of the first tubular member (28) and also includes a saddle portion (58) that extends from the end connection portion and receives the intermediate portion (52) of the second tubular member (30). Opposite ends (60) of the saddle portion (58) each includes a pair of spaced clamp attachers (62) for securing a clamp to permit the assembly by a connection (64) that includes a filler alloy (66) that is preferably a brazing material. The first and second tubular members (28,30) as well as the connector (48) are preferably made from stainless steel.

Vehicle body space frame

A vehicle body construction (10) includes a tubular metallic space frame (11) to which panels are secured by adhesive connections (126) of elongated shapes. Each adhesive connection (126) includes elastomeric spacers (128) having a nominal thickness between the associated panel and tubular member in the range of 2 to 6 millimeters, and each adhesive connection also includes an adhesive (130) that extends between the associated panel and the tubular member intermediate the spacers and has a Shore A scale hardness in the range of 40 to 60.

Vehicle body construction

A vehicle vent (12) for exhausting air from a vehicle occupant compartment includes a float valve (32) that prevents water that enters an outlet (24) of the vent from passing into the vehicle through the vent inlet (20) but which has a drain passage (36) for permitting a limited flow of the water to a drain (38) on the vent inlet side of the float valve (32). The vent (12) preferably includes a fan (40) that is most preferably energized by a solar panel (48). Mounting of the vent (12) can be provided on the vehicle roof, on the roof just forward of a vehicle back window, or as part of a sunroof.

Vehicle vent

A vehicle sunshade roof construction (16) is disclosed as including a transparent roof panel (28) and a sunshade (32) for opening and closing the area below the transparent roof panel. The sunshade (32) includes a plurality of laterally elongated blades (34) connected by a flexible sheet-like shade (38) and utilized in association with a pair of roof mounted guides (40) that support the sunshade for movement between the closed and open positions. In the closed position, the blades (34) are spaced with the shade (38) extending therebetween; and in the open position, the blades (34) are stored in a single vertical stack with the shade (38) folded therebetween at a location that exposes the occupant compartment to the transparent roof panel (28). A front end (32f) of the sunshade includes a handle (41) that is manually grasped to move the sunshade between the closed and open positions. A coupling mechanism (42) of the sunshade includes releasable connections (43) for connecting and disconnecting to and from the blade ends to maintain the blades spaced from each other during movement to and from and while in the closed position as well as permitting the storage in the stacked relationship.
