An improved air nozzle is provided which produces high thrust amplification over a relatively wide range of input flow rates while maintaining relatively low noise levels. The nozzle is adapted to provide flow amplification by inducing flow of ambient air with high pressure air.

Variable two stage air nozzle

An air nozzle is provided which produces high thrust with low noise. The nozzle is adapted to provide flow amplification by inducing flow of ambient air with high pressure air.

Nozzle

The invention consists of provision of novel noise-silencing fluid-discharge devices which provide superior noise reduction. The devices comprise one or more flow-modifying elements which are made by rolling and compacting knitted metal wire mesh fabric. A preferred embodiment of the invention is an air discharge nozzle which is characterized by a high air discharge velocity while simultaneously effecting a sharp reduction in noise.

Noise-reducing fluid-flow devices

A fluid exhaust silencer is disclosed which comprises a hollow, cylindrical, fluid-permeable noise-reducing element made of a wire mesh material. The noise-reducing element is mounted in a housing which is adapted to be connected to an exhaust for a pressurized fluid. The housing is made so that the pressurized exhaust fluid flows into one end of the housing and is discharged from the side of the housing after passage radially through the noise-reducing element.
