Process and printer with masking of defects

Process for compensation of mechanical defects in an ink jet printer in which the ink viscosity, the jet velocity, the distance at which the ink jet is broken into droplets and the phase are independently servocontrolled to respect set values, process according to which the droplet arrival position is compared with a reference position, and mechanical defects are compensated by varying the electrical charge on the droplets. The invention also relates to a printer equipped with checking and servocontrol means so that compensation according to the process can be applied. The mechanical assembly of the printer will thus be simplified.

Process and printer with substrate advance control

This invention relates to a continuous multicolor ink jet press comprising a substrate driven by a motor and passing under at least one print head associated with a sensor and supplied by an ink circuit, a synchronization circuit, connected to a process controller and a position encoder placed on the substrate drive motor transmitting a signal to the synchronization circuit, this encoder being a high resolution position encoder. A printing system is located upstream of the printheads and which prints marks regularly on the substrate. These marks are detected by the sensor associated with the printheads.

Continuous multicolor ink jet press and synchronization process for this

An apparatus for the production and repair of color filters from a substrate on which is deposited a regular network of color blocks. The apparatus includes a very stable Table 23 supporting the substrate and a printing head 25 using a high resolution, continuous ink jet with one or more nozzles supplied by an ink circuit. A mechanical motor driven device 28 provides for the relative displacement of the substrate 24 with respect to the printing head 25 and a measuring device 300 measures the position of the Table 23 by laser interferometry or by optical encoding. Ink positioning system 34 positions ink droplets using microscopic optics and a system inspects and controls the complete apparatus.
