Mandrel rod (1) for pipe rolling mills, in which hollow billet (5) is rolled on mandrel rod (1), consists of two pipes (2, 3) lying inside one another. Annular gap (4) between pipes (2, 3) is filled with a thermosetting plastic, whose coefficient of expansion is selected large enough so that the thermosetting plastic completely fills annular gap (4), even with temperature differences, between pipes (2, 3).

Compositions, which are obtained by mixing and/or, optionally simultaneously, grinding a preferably liquid phosphate and a solid lubricant component, such as, graphite, are very suitable as additives for lubicants.

Lubricant additive in powder to paste form

Agent for the pickling of and as an antioxidant for workpieces made of iron and steel in the case of when they are subjected to non-cutting, hot transformation. The agent is used in dry form. The agent contains: (a) 20 to 80 percent by weight of a pickling-effective compound, such as, sodium metaborate; (b) 1 to 80 percent by weight of a component, such as, graphite; and (c) zero to 79 percent by weight of at least one substance selected from group (d), (e) and/or (f). Zero to 35 percent by weight of group (d), such as, coke, can be used as substance (c) and, for example, act as antioxidants. Zero to 50 percent by weight of group (e), such as, sodium chloride, can be used as substance (c), and control the physical characteristics. Zero to 5 percent by weight of group (f), such as, ammonium chloride, can be used as substance (c) and, for example, act on the reduction of the oxides of group (a).

Pickling agent

A separating-and-lubricating agent in solid form for warm metal shaping, especially hot-sheet or profile rolling. The softening point of the agent is between 20.degree. and 250.degree. C., the melting point is between 30.degree. and 300.degree. C. and the shore-D-hardness at 200.degree. C. is between 20 and 80. The agent contains at least one thermoplastic polymer and/or copolymer and a lubricant for synthetic substances.
