For producing basic oils and in particular very high quality oils, i.e. oils possessing a high viscosity index (VI), a low aromatics content, good UV stability and a low pour point, from oil cuts having an initial boiling point higher than 340&#xb0; C., possibly with simultaneous production of middle distillates (in particular gasoils and kerosene) of very high quality, i.e. having a low aromatics content and a low pour point, the invention provides a flexible procedure for producing oils and middle distillates from a charge containing heteroatoms, i.e. containing more than 200 ppm by weight of nitrogen, and more than 500 ppm by weight of sulphur. The procedure comprises at least one hydrorefining stage, at least one stage of catalytic dewaxing on zeolite, and at least one hydrofinishing stage.

Flexible method for producing oil bases and distillates from feedstock containing heteroatoms

An improved hydrocracking process of hydrocarbon charges, in two stages with an intermediate separation, in which the second-stage of hydrocracking is carried out in the presence of an added nitrogen content which is greater than 150 ppm by weight, preferably about 500 ppm by weight, and preferably in the presence of a Y zeolite catalyst, produces high yields of middle distillate.

Method for two-step hydrocracking of hydrocarbon feedstocks

A process for the production of very high quality base oils optionally with simultaneous production of high quality middle distillates comprises the stages for hydrotreatment, preferably hydrocracking, on Y or beta zeolite, and atmospheric distillation. The effluent is subjected to a catalytic dewaxing on the ZSM-48 catalyst. The process then comprises a hydrofinishing stage for hydrogenating the aromatic compounds, preferably on a catalyst that comprises at least one noble metal of group VIII, chlorine and fluorine, and the stages of atmospheric and vacuum distillation. The hydrofinishing stage is conducted at a temperature lower by 20-200&#xb0; C. than the catalytic dewaxing stage.

The invention concerns a process for improving the pour point of a feed comprising paraffins containing more than 10 carbon atoms, in which process the feed to be treated is brought into contact with a catalyst comprising an EU-1 zeolite and at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element, at a temperature which is in the range 170&deg; C. to 500&deg; C., a pressure in the range 1 to 250 bar and an hourly space velocity in the range 0.05 to 100 h , in the presence of hydrogen in a proportion of 50 to 2000 l/l of feed. The oils obtained have good pour points and high viscosity indices (VI). The process is also applicable to gas oils and other feeds requiring a reduction of pour point. The invention also concerns an EU-1 zeolite from which a portion of elements T (Al, Ga, Fe or B) have been removed and which has an Si/T atomic ratio of at least 10.

The present invention relates to a process for improving the pour point of a feed including paraffins containing more than 10 carbon atoms. Desirably, the feed to be treated is brought into contact with a catalyst based on NU-85 zeolite, at least partially in its acid form, and at least one hydro-dehydrogenating element, at a temperature which is in the range 170&deg; C. to 500&deg; C., a pressure in the range 1 to 250 bar and at an hourly space velocity in the range 0.05 to 100 h , in the presence of hydrogen in a proportion of 50 to 2000 l/l of feed.

NU-85 zeolite catalyst and a process for improving the pour point of feeds containing paraffins

A hydrotreatment process is carried out in at least two steps to hydrotreat a heavy hydrocarbon fraction containing asphaltenes, sulphur-containing impurities and metallic impurities, comprising a first hydrodemetallization step and a subsequent second hydrodesulphurization step, in which the hydrodemetallization step comprises one or more hydrodemetallization zones with fixed beds preceded by at least two hydrodemetallization guard zones (A) and (B), also with fixed beds, disposed in series for cyclic use consisting of successive repetition of steps b) and c) defined below. The process comprises the following steps: a) a step in which the guard zones are used together for a period of at most equal to the deactivation time and/or clogging time of one thereof, b) a step during which the deactivated and/or clogged guard zone is short-circuited and the catalyst it contains is regenerated and/or replaced by fresh catalyst, and c) a step during which the guard zones (A) and (B) are used together, the guard zone where the catalyst has been regenerated during the preceding step being reconnected and said step being carried out for a period at most equal to the deactivation and/or clogging time of one of the guard zones. The process is characterized by introducing a quantity of middle distillate, particularly a gas oil, with the feed representing 0.5% to 80% by weight with respect to the feed. The process can comprise a prior hydrovisbreaking step and optionally a final deasphalting step using a solvent.
