Novel methods of medical treatment and/or inhibition of development of diseases are disclosed for diseases that are sensitive to androgenic or estrogenic activity. The treatments utilize inhibitors of type 5 and/or type 3 17&bgr;-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. Novel inhibitors of type 5 17&bgr;-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase are also disclosed, as are novel inhibitors of type 3 17&bgr;-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase.

A uridine diphospho-glucuronosyltransferase (UGTB217) is provided. Methods of producing the enzyme and using the enzyme to identify potential compounds which inhibit or alter the activity of the enzyme are described. In addition, methods of using antibodies to localize the protein, or using the gene sequence or portions thereof for probes or using the gene sequence to produce expression-disrupting sense or antisense DNA fragments thereof, or antisense RNA, are provided.

The present invention relates to adaptors for mounting a baby chair on a bicycle. The adaptor includes an elongated supporting structure provided with a bending channel fitted with a cushioning element to reduce the shocks and the vibrations usually transmitted from the bicycle to the child seated in the baby chair so that the child may comfortably and safely be transported on a conventional bicycle. The elongated supporting structure includes a first end to be mounted to the bicycle and a second end provided with a fixing plate, on which a baby chair is installed. Different accessories, for example, luggage racks, reflectors and flags may also be added to the adaptor.

Disclosed herein are derivatives of 5-(lower alkyl)-7-amino-2,3-dihydro-1,4-phthalazinedione having substituents on the amino group. The derivatives have luminescent properties which render them useful as analytical tools in clinical chemistry. Adaptation of the derivatives for luminescent immunoassay provides valuable reagents and assays with outstanding sensitivity.
